That is the island’s dry season, with the most pleasant weather, lower humidity, and strong beach conditions. Official tourism sources on both sides of the island describe this as the prime weather window, and St. Maarten notes hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30.
If you want the best mix of nice weather and a slightly quieter feel, I’d look at late April to June. That is an inference from the official St. Maarten visitor guide, which says winter is the busy season and summer is more relaxed, while hotels, restaurants, and activities remain open and lodging is often easier to find at lower prices.
