Casa Elije
Description
The world seems so far away from Casa Elije.
With about 30,000 square feet of elegant indoor living flowing into more than 5,000 square feet of terraces and patios above the Sea of Cortez, this oceanfront estate is one of the most spectacular private Los Cabos Villas and is located directly on the prestigious shores of Palmilla Cove. It feels less like you’ve arrived at a house and more like you’ve entered your own private resort as soon as you enter and see the water framed by glass and light.
Casa Elije’s entire layout is intended for sophisticated, carefree entertaining. The centerpiece of the estate is a large, open-concept great room that connects a fine dining area with fourteen seats to a gourmet kitchen. With ample worktops and storage that let chefs move silently in the background while the group unwinds, the kitchen is designed for both serious cooking and expert service.
The interiors feel more deeply rooted in their surroundings than merely decorated because the artwork throughout the house has been carefully chosen to reflect the hues and moods of the sea and sky outside. A large portion of the oceanfront is lined with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that slide fully open to let in the warm Los Cabos sun and gentle onshore breeze.
Sleeping at Casa Elije is like having your group stay in a tiny, opulent hotel. Discreetly dispersed throughout the estate are ten luxurious bedroom suites with king beds and spa-inspired ensuite bathrooms, as well as a private guest apartment. Each suite is transformed into a private haven with soaking tubs, ample showers, double vanities, and thoughtfully layered lighting.
When you open a door or window at night, you can hear the sound of the sea. Casa Elije is perfect for large celebrations, corporate retreats, or multi-family vacations where you want every guest to feel completely pampered because every bedroom is equally luxurious and there are no “second-best” rooms.
Days unfold organically on the villa’s multi-level terraces outside. Long hours with a book or a drink are encouraged by the rattan daybeds and teak sun loungers that border the infinity-edge pool that stretches toward the bay. As night falls, a fire pit takes center stage, transforming the terrace into a glowing amphitheater for conversation under the stars.
Al fresco dining is the norm rather than the exception thanks to a full outdoor kitchen and a luxurious gas grill. Lunches often extend into long afternoons in the shade, and dinners frequently start with cocktails on the terrace and end with bare feet and laughter around the fire.
Play and well-being are integrated into the design. Modern exercise equipment and a plunge pool allow you to cool off right away after a workout in this state-of-the-art facility. Movie nights and big-game viewings are transformed into events by a private theater tucked away inside the house, complete with luxurious seating for sixteen and its own wet bar. Because of Casa Elije’s size, there is always a new area to explore, such as a peaceful balcony, a loggia with shade, or a courtyard surrounded by palm trees, all while maintaining the feeling of community.
Here, the service is just as important as the design. Arrivals and departures are seamless from the beginning because round-trip airport transportation for up to twenty guests is included. A chef and wait staff are available to prepare and serve meals from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a complimentary breakfast every morning. Other than allergy-related needs, which are gladly accommodated, special requests beyond the standard offering are charged extra.
Every aspect of your day, from activities and transfers to drinks and snacks, is planned by a dedicated butler who works the same hours. Every day for six hours, a masseuse is on hand to transport the spa to your preferred terrace or treatment area. Free water, coffee, tea, and non-alcoholic beverages are available throughout your visit, and daily housekeeping keeps the expansive estate discreetly spotless without interfering with your time.
With easy access to a private marina and the placid waters of the cove, Casa Elije is situated in one of Palmilla’s most prestigious and tranquil areas. By car or golf cart, the Shoppes at Palmilla, which feature gourmet markets, boutiques, and cafés, are just a short drive away. The historic center of San José del Cabo, with pharmacies, galleries, and restaurants lining the streets of the Art District, is about ten to fifteen minutes away by car.
Depending on traffic and time of day, Cabo San Lucas, with its marina, nightlife, and other dining options, is about twenty to twenty-five minutes away along the Tourist Corridor. By car, Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is normally twenty to twenty-five minutes away in light traffic and up to thirty minutes during peak hours. The entire route is paved: a standard sedan or SUV can easily navigate the highway to the Palmilla turnoff, followed by safe, landscaped residential roads for the last few kilometers; a 4×4 is not necessary.
With its palm-lined streets, exquisitely designed residences, and expansive views of the Sea of Cortez, Palmilla is Los Cabos at its most refined. One of the most popular swimmable beaches in the area, the renowned One&Only Palmilla with its tennis courts and spa, and a championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus are all located within its gates.
Gourmet markets, prestigious hospitals, renowned restaurants, and the best surf break in the area are all just a short drive away, making day-to-day living here exceptionally simple. However, the ambience is still that of a quiet, well-maintained neighborhood rather than a bustling resort.
One of the most complete private estates in the area, Casa Elije is distinguished among ultra-luxury Los Cabos Villas by its Palmilla Cove marina-front location, fully staffed spa-level service, including daily massages, and its unique combination of eleven king suites and 35,000 square feet of indoor–outdoor living.
A stay at Casa Elije is a perfect combination of three experiences. One day might begin with a leisurely yacht or paddle excursion from the nearby private marina, followed by afternoon massages and a lengthy lunch on the terrace without ever leaving the property. Another could take you five to ten minutes up the road to Palmilla Beach, where you could swim and stroll along the sand.
After that, you could go to The Shoppes at Palmilla for some coffee and shopping before returning to your infinity pool in time for sunset. A third might be dedicated to San José del Cabo, which is ten to fifteen minutes away. There, you can see the Art District, eat at a restaurant in the courtyard, and then head back to your private theater at Casa Elije for a late movie and drink.
