The Haute Retreats difference

What a stay with Haute Retreats includes

Punta Mita has its gates, its courses and its beach clubs. What we add is the planning before you arrive and the people on the ground while you are there.

The Haute Standard

A 21-day pre-arrival protocol on every booking: preferences and dietary needs captured, the house team briefed, provisioning set, transfers timed to your flights, and a written run-of-stay before you leave home.

Every hour of service in writing

Staff and hours differ from villa to villa, and we set them out before you pay. At Casa Marias in Kupuri, for example, the concierge, housekeepers, butler, bartender and a chef for breakfast and lunch work for nine hours a day, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with groceries billed separately.

A welcome in person

Every guest is greeted in person on arrival with a welcome amenity chosen for the house, and a member of the local team is on hand throughout the stay.

A concierge for the whole peninsula

Private chefs, boat days to the Marietas Islands, tee times, surf lessons, a driver for Sayulita and San Pancho, and transfers, arranged by your 24/7 concierge.

Destination guide

Punta Mita villa rentals: the complete guide

A villa is the way to live on the peninsula rather than visit it. Punta Mita is a gated community at the northern tip of the Bay of Banderas, with two Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses, Pacífico and Bahía, a handful of residents’ beach clubs and, at many houses, a golf cart for getting from one to the other.

Where the best villas are

Our Punta Mita villas sit in the communities inside the gates. Kupuri Estates looks over Litibú Bay, close to the Kupuri beach club. La Punta Estates has oceanfront houses a few minutes from both golf courses. Ranchos Estates is beachfront, facing the Marietas Islands. Pacífico Estates is a private enclave on the oceanfront, and Lagos del Mar lines the fairways of one of the two Nicklaus courses.

Villas for families and large groups

For a large family, Casa Familia sleeps 30 in eleven bedrooms, two of them in a separate casita. Casa del Oso sleeps 24 in ten bedrooms and Casa Palmasola 22 in nine, and Punta Pacífico 7 takes 20 guests in nine bedrooms. Casa Akai, with eight bedrooms for 18, can add a children’s activities director, and the calm water off the Kupuri beach club is a good place for young swimmers to try snorkeling.

Chefs, staff and golf memberships

Many Punta Mita villas include a private chef for two or three meals a day and daily housekeeping, with groceries billed separately; others offer them as add-ons. At Casa Palmasola a staff of seventeen runs a complete meal plan, and at Estate la Sierra the chef cooks breakfast and lunch. Casa Akai, Casa Noosa, Casa Marias and Jaguar are fully staffed. Several houses also include a golf membership that opens the beach clubs, among them Estate la Sierra, Casa Marias and Punta Pacífico 7.

Getting to Punta Mita

Guests fly into Puerto Vallarta International (PVR), which has direct flights from many US and Canadian cities. The drive takes 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the house: about 40 to Jaguar, 45 to Estate la Sierra and an hour to Casa Palmasola. Your concierge times the transfer to your flight, and the villa is stocked before you arrive.

Minimum stays

Most villas ask for one. Three nights is usual for much of the year and seven over Christmas and New Year, while Casa Marias asks for seven nights all year. We confirm the minimum for your dates in writing.

When to go

The best time to visit Punta Mita

Punta Mita is a winter-sun destination, with a different rhythm in each season.

December to April

Sun and blue skies

Sunny days, low humidity and the beach at its best. These are the weeks families escaping the northern winter book first.

May and June

Warm and quieter

Warm days and fewer people on the peninsula, for couples and for groups who want privacy.

July to October

The green season

Warmer days with tropical afternoon showers, green hills and quiet beaches, for long stays and a slower pace.

November

Before the holidays

Pleasant weather before the festive weeks begin, Thanksgiving week included.

Book 9 to 12 months ahead for Christmas, New Year and Easter. For January to April, six to nine months ahead is comfortable.
