Casa Mirador
Description
Casa Mirador is true to its name, perched on the granite heights of Pedregal where the mountains give way to the Pacific. The sea turns cobalt in the afternoon, and pelicans ride the updrafts at eye level.
At night, the lighthouse at Land’s End blinks in the distance, and the surf turns a steady basso beneath the stars. In the morning, the sun crosses the water in a silver path. Every line in this 5,000-square-foot haven, which is tucked away inside Pedregal’s guard-gated, round-the-clock community, is drawn toward the view: glass walls that pocket away, terraces that hover over the cliffs, an infinity pool that appears to spill directly into the Pacific.
Inside, the essence of a traditional coastal villa blends with modern Baja ease. A chef’s kitchen gleams with top-notch appliances for everything from sunrise chilaquiles to a private tasting menu; cool stone floors run from a fireside lounge to a dining area sized for long, candlelit suppers; terraces wrap the main living level so the great room breathes like an open pavilion. The house is fully staffed when it arrives, and concierge service arranges everything, including airport transportation, yacht rentals, and in-villa spa days, so your vacation time expands just as it should.
Each of the five exquisitely furnished suites, which can accommodate up to twelve people, has a private bathroom, a smart TV (Apple TV + DirecTV), and whisper-quiet climate control. One master adds an uncommon luxury on this coast: an outdoor sauna perched above the waves. Two oceanfront masters claim deep furnished terraces for coffee at sunrise and stargazing after hours. Whether it’s a friendly marathon downstairs at the pool table or a late movie in the media lounge, the remaining bedrooms are dispersed for privacy but never far from the action.
The way the house plays is what makes Casa Mirador unique. A game room with a pool table, a poker setup, and comfortable chairs for game day replaces the fully furnished gym that keeps routines on track. A professional ping-pong table sets the tone for sunset rematches; an outdoor bar and grill takes you from ceviche to fire-seared ribeyes without ever leaving the view; and an audiophile surround-sound system transforms the terrace outside into your own private beach club. The cliff-edge infinity pool, which offers a prime view of whale migrations in the winter and year-round crimson sunsets, is the main attraction, though.
There are useful benefits to Pedregal’s drama. While the swimmable coves of Áano, Chileno, and Santa María are an easy drive when you crave glassy, protected water, the surf below is captivating but usually unsafe for swimming—perfect for long, soul-clearing walks and tide watching. You can be on the courts at the community tennis center, down the hill at the Cabo San Lucas Marina for a deep-sea charter, or at Pedregal’s beach overlook for sunset in a matter of minutes.
The villa’s elevation and orientation maintain a sense of seclusion as soon as the gate closes, despite the tempting proximity of downtown’s dining options and nightlife.
It’s easy to get here. Cabo San Lucas International (CSL) for private aviation takes 15–20 minutes, while Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) takes 45–55 minutes by car in normal traffic. Any car will do, but a mid-size SUV is best for visiting the beaches along the Corridor. The approach to Pedregal is completely paved, and the final kilometer climbs a well-maintained cobblestone grade. Casa Mirador is conveniently located at 22.880° N, 109.912° W on the Pacific slope of Pedregal.
It will take 5 to 8 minutes to get to the Marina and downtown restaurants, 10 to 15 minutes to get to Áano Beach, and 5 to 10 minutes to get to Pedregal Beach and the community tennis courts (keep in mind that Pacific surf is usually not swimmable).
A true cliff-edge perch with expansive views of the Pacific to Land’s End, two king masters with sweeping terraces (one with an outdoor sauna), and a resort-style play deck with a gym, game room, bar, professional sound, and an infinity pool suspended over stone inside Pedregal’s most sought-after, guard-gated enclave are what set Casa Mirador apart among Los Cabos Villas.
Three simple ways to spend a day close by
Hike Pedregal’s ridge trail at first light for breathtaking views of the city and sea, and then head to Áano Beach for a swim and paddle in the middle of the morning.
Explore the Cabo San Lucas Marina, take a panga to El Arco and Lover’s Beach, and then come back for a terrace lunch prepared by a chef.
After spending an afternoon exploring galleries and cafés in San José del Cabo (during the Thursday Art Walk during the season), return to the fire feature to toast the sunset as the Pacific turns to velvet.
