Chalet Altar

The chalet Altar is considered one of the hidden treasures of Zermatt. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle in the heart of Winkelmatten, this property is a haven of serenity and tranquility. The center of Zermatt is only a 15-minute walk or a few minutes by electric taxi.

An ideal destination for the most demanding skiers, you can ski to and from the chalet and the nearby cable car takes you to glacier paradise. Perfectly positioned, the views of the world-renowned Matterhorn are undoubtedly among the best in the resort.

The wellness and spa area is at the heart of the property with an indoor swimming pool with magnificent views of the Matterhorn, sauna, hammam and massage room on the ground floor of the chalet.

The chalet can accommodate up to 20 people in 10 twin bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and showers. Each suite can be configured as a double room with single duvets. Perfect for large groups of companies or families, the chalet can be considered as one or divided into an apartment of eight and twelve people for small groups. When the apartments are divided, each has its own living spaces and equipment allowing maximum comfort.

Traditional alpine wood and wood are everywhere in the chalet and comfy furniture specially selected to create a relaxing atmosphere. The top floor of the chalet is dedicated to the living room and the dining rooms which have sliding doors from floor to ceiling allowing light to enter. The spacious balconies offer breathtaking views of the Matterhorn, providing the perfect background for an aperitif or to soak in the shelves during the warmer months of spring. The main dining room can accommodate up to 20 people when viewed as an entire chalet and the flexible living spaces mean there is always a place to find peace and tranquility.
