Chalet Marlagoa
Description
It is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular properties in Zermatt. A huge Manhattan style 300m2 loft located in a wooden chalet in the Swiss Alps; Chalet Marlagoa combines glass, steel, textured concrete and wood in a unique symphony.
Access to the property is a 2-minute walk from the top of the Omnia Hotel elevators, for which you will have a special key.
The loft is available on a self-catered basis, which includes firewood, or a fully catered basis, which includes breakfast and dinner on six days out of seven, as well as dedicated service by the villa’s staff. After a day out on the slopes, soothe muscles in the sauna and hot tub, give an impromptu concert on the grand piano, share photos via Wi-Fi or put a few logs in the fireplace and settle in by the television.
The feeling of space, light and proximity to nature that the loft offers is unprecedented: there are no barriers between nature outside and interior space inside – everything is fluid and free. On both sides overlooking the village, the walls are made of glass from floor to ceiling, with French windows 6 meters high leading to a large terrace. (There is a white electric outdoor curtain which can be wrapped around all this glass if necessary). The ceiling is supported by seven columns, while the glass walls have a built-in fireplace and three alcoves.
The main living room of the loft includes a hanging and lighted table that can be raised and lowered from the coffee table to the dining table up to the ceiling height; the latter creating a large party space. In one corner, you can play on a Steinway grand piano, while in another, you can sink into a large sofa and simultaneously admire the breathtaking view of the village and the crackling fireplace installed in the glass wall. Around you: two desks, jack-in-the-box armchairs, an art wall and a sublime chandelier.
From this level, a metal staircase leads to the mezzanine, which has another lounge area with sofa and television; a freestanding jacuzzi bath, a comfortable dining alcove, a galley kitchen, a cantilever bar and guest toilets. As you walk on this floor, you will notice that the floating feeling it creates is due to the fact that it is entirely of opaque glass with subtle lighting.
