Golf Villa 8
Description
Golf Villa 8, which is peaceful, modern, and ideally situated to watch sailboats trace the line to Catalina Island, awakens with the sun as it spreads across the Teeth of the Dog fairways and the Caribbean beyond.
This three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath retreat, which was recently completely renovated, was designed for those who define a great vacation as the ease between a morning round, a salty swim, and a leisurely dinner with a view. The house is divided into three light-filled levels: a covered ground-level terrace that transforms the trades into your daily soundtrack; a spacious balcony where sea and course stack like layers of color; and an airy living pavilion covered in glass from floor to ceiling. The eye keeps returning to the water, lawn, and sky because of the design language, which is simple and coastal (Coralina underfoot, pale woods, soft linens).
Spaces inside are scaled for community without sacrificing privacy. Families and friends can easily settle into their own routines in the guest rooms, which have a queen bed in one and two full beds in the other. The main suite has a king bed and a spa-bright en suite. With quiet ceiling fans, blackout where it matters, and fully air-conditioned bedrooms that are tuned for true relaxation, early tee times feel more like a choice than a chore.
Technology acts and then vanishes: Internet TV and LED screens manage match replays; a Sonos system plays music throughout the day; a safe box and careful storage eliminate the need to live out of a suitcase; Starlink Wi-Fi maintains clear calls. A private chef night is as easy to host as pancakes before the practice range because the kitchen downstairs is truly cook-friendly, with contemporary appliances, sensible prep flow, and refrigeration that can withstand market runs.
The villa’s outdoor life is its sweet spot. At golden hour, when Catalina is a cutout on a copper sea and the fairway becomes silent, that expansive upper balcony becomes your favorite room. A shaded terrace leads to landscaping that keeps things green and private.
The complex’s residents’ pool is located a few steps away for the post-round cool-off. From here you can feel how well-positioned Golf Villa 8 is inside Casa de Campo: walk to the Casa de Campo Hotel in just a few minutes for two resort pools, a serious gym, spa rituals, an à la carte restaurant, and a bar; golf carts or a short drive put you at the Teeth of the Dog clubhouse, The Links, the Pro Shop, and the Driving Range in minutes, which means sunrise buckets and spontaneous nines are not ideas, they’re habits.
Everything else you come to Casa de Campo villas for stays close and effortless. Altos de Chavón with the Dye Fore course is typically 15–20 minutes above the Río Chavón canyon when stone lanes and gallery light call; the Marina’s restaurants, provisioning, pharmacy counters, and yacht charters are about 10–15 minutes along fully paved, well-signed boulevards; and Minitas Beach offers calm, swimmable water and a beachfront café (about 5–10 minutes by car or golf cart).
ATMs and groceries are concentrated at the Marina; more extensive services in La Romana town usually take 15 to 20 minutes. For map orientation, locate Golf Villa 8 at roughly 18.41° N, 68.91° W, in the hotel-side golf villa enclave on the south shore of Casa de Campo, close to Teeth of the Dog.
Logistics and arrival are simple and door-to-door. The villa is typically 10 to 15 minutes from La Romana International Airport (LRM), 50 to 60 minutes from Punta Cana International (PUJ), and 75 to 90 minutes from Santo Domingo’s Las Américas (SDQ), depending on traffic. The final 1–2 km inside the resort follow flat estate lanes any vehicle class handles comfortably. The simplest way to get started is with a private SUV transfer; once you’re settled in, a golf cart makes trips to the beach, spa, tennis, and marina delightfully quick.
In the end, what sets Golf Villa 8 apart from similar Casa de Campo villas is its unique three-story vantage line that simultaneously frames Teeth of the Dog, the Caribbean, and Catalina Island. When combined with the ease of walking to the hotel, Starlink connectivity, and residents’ pool access, it creates a panoramic view that is as lovely at noon as it is at night.
Three things to do in the area
• Take a pre-round swim at Minitas Beach to start the day, followed by espresso at the beachside café. • At sunset, explore Altos de Chavón for galleries, river views, and dinner on the plaza; play a front-nine on Teeth of the Dog and stay for a sea-view lunch at the clubhouse.
Realistic, door-to-door travel times and distances: Casa de Campo Hotel: 3–6 minutes on foot; Teeth of the Dog clubhouse/pro shop/driving range 5–10 minutes by cart; 5–10 minutes to Minitas Beach; restaurants, pharmacies, and marina provisioning 10–15 minutes; Racquet Center & equestrian complex 10–15 minutes; Altos de Chavón/Dye Fore 15–20 minutes. Airports: SDQ 75–90 minutes; PUJ 50–60 minutes; LRM 10–15 minutes. The last approach is level, well-marked, and comfortable for both standard sedans and SUVs. The roads are completely paved.
