La Fabulosa
Description
When you stand on the terrace at La Fabulosa, the coastline sets up like a private theater, with the Caribbean breathing in long, blue lines to the horizon and Teeth of the Dog’s eighth hole rolling down to coral rock.
The house is transformed into a single ocean-facing pavilion where breakfast drifts outside, trade winds lift the curtains, and the day begins with the hush of waves and a distant thwack from the fairway as morning light pours through glass walls into bright, open rooms. Families and friends can easily transition between swims, leisurely lunches, and spontaneous afternoons that end whenever the sky decides because this four-bedroom retreat is designed for that rhythm—hotel-level elegance with the intimacy of a private home.
The interior design maintains focus on the sky and water. The sea is framed by an expansive great room that resembles a living mural; natural materials like linen, Coralina stone, and light woods are soft to the touch and remain cool underfoot. With professional appliances and a sensible prep flow, the kitchen is truly cook-ready, making it suitable for both a barefoot pancake morning before an early tee time and a chef’s tasting menu.
With quiet climate control, blackout where it matters, luggage-swallowing smart storage, and spa-bright bathrooms, each bedroom is designed as a private haven. Three suites have direct views of the ocean, so the first thing you see is color rather than a clock. By late afternoon, the terrace becomes the hub of the house, with al fresco dining under a gentle breeze, cocktail hour as the 8th fairway quiets, and the kind of conversation that only occurs when no one is in a rush. Light slides across the floor toward the pool.
La Fabulosa is true to its name when it’s outside. A long pool reflects the sky, a dining area welcomes long, unstructured meals where grilled snapper and citrus taste exactly like the latitude, and a wide deck facing the ocean offers cushioned lounges in both sun and shade. The soundtrack reverts to palms, water, and a gentle cheer from the green below, and the boundary between inside and out is suggested rather than actual. In person, the composition seems effortless, which is a hallmark of Casa de Campo villas created by professionals who are aware of how vacationers actually live.
It’s easy and close to everything you come to this coast for. The Casa de Campo Marina’s restaurants, provisioning, pharmacy counters, and yacht charters are usually 10–15 minutes away along fully paved, well-marked boulevards; Minitas Beach, which features calm, swimmable water and a beachside café, is normally 5–10 minutes away by golf cart or car; and the Teeth of the Dog clubhouse and spa is about 5–10 minutes away.
When golden hour calls for stone lanes, galleries, and a plaza dinner, Altos de Chavón and the Dye Fore course are about 15 to 20 minutes above the Río Chavón canyon. The Racquet Center and equestrian complex land in the 10 to 15 minute band. Locate La Fabulosa on the oceanfront golf belt close to Minitas at roughly 18.41° N, 68.91° W for map orientation: sea in front, resort life nearby, sanctuary at home.
Logistics and arrival remain simple and truthful. Punta Cana International (PUJ) takes 50–60 minutes, Santo Domingo’s Las Américas (SDQ) takes 75–90 minutes, and La Romana International Airport (LRM) takes 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic. From all airports to the resort gates, all roads are completely paved; the last one to two kilometers inside Casa de Campo are flat, clearly marked estate lanes that are suitable for all vehicle classes.
The easiest way to get started is with a private SUV transfer; once you’re comfortable, a golf cart keeps beach, spa, tennis, and marina hops delightfully brief.
You get into a rhythm here. A long lunch that drifts into shade and sea air; a final swim as the horizon turns copper and the surf becomes the evening metronome; early laps in the pool before the first foursome reaches the tee. More than just a front-row seat, La Fabulosa is a subtly opulent base that lets the island do what it does best—widen the day and calm the mind.
La Fabulosa’s true tournament-edge location directly along Teeth of the Dog’s eighth hole, which combines three ocean-view suites and glass-to-terrace architecture with a cinematic, uninterrupted horizon, is what ultimately sets it apart from other Casa de Campo villas. This creates a coastal stage that is as lovely at noon as it is beneath a starry sky.
Three things to do in the area
• Play a front-nine at Teeth of the Dog, then stay for a sea-view lunch at the clubhouse. • Start the day with a swim at Minitas Beach and an espresso at the beachside café.
• At dusk, explore Altos de Chavón for dinner on the plaza, galleries, and views of the canyon.
