Manoir De Lurin
Description
The island opens up as you follow the winding road into Lurin. The palms part, the trade winds blow away, and Manoir De Lurin emerges, nestled in lush tropical vegetation a short distance from Gustavia and the pristine curve of Gouverneur Beach.
This is St-Barths as you would have imagined: a colonial-style estate with pavilions and deep verandas that are intended to provide seclusion, facilitate easy gatherings, and create long, golden afternoons that are intentionally leisurely.
A plantation heart designed for contemporary living
The main plantation house, with its two elegant levels of dark woods, white ceilings, and soft cross-breezes, is located in the center of Manoir De Lurin. The living room’s curated pieces that pay homage to the island’s French-Caribbean heritage, its wide-opening doors to the gardens, and its cushioned sofas and armchairs for conversation combine period charm with modern comfort. Next to it, a television room provides a peaceful haven for movie night, and a pool table invites friendly competition after dinner.
Cozy seating areas on the covered terrace are ideal for a final drink under the stars or coffee in the morning. There are eight seats at the dining table, which is close enough to the spacious, fully furnished kitchen to allow for uninterrupted conversation while plates and platters are being brought in and taken out. Do you like the breeze? The garden serves as the backdrop for the terrace dining area, which is situated in the gentle wash of the trade winds.
A picture-perfect view from a pool terrace
The island unfolds in front of you as you stroll across the lawn to the end of the garden. A front-row seat to color and light throughout the day, the heated pool overlooks St-Jean Bay and the surrounding hills. For lazy reading sessions, sprawl out on sunbeds or take a nap in the grass. Since the poolside gazebo has a summer kitchen and barbecue, grilled lobster, colorful salads, and clinking glasses can all take place there without obtruding the view as evening draws near.
A pavilion design that is actually effective for gatherings
Manoir De Lurin was created specifically for friends and family who desire both privacy and connection. Five air-conditioned bedrooms and five bathrooms are spread throughout the estate between the main house and three separate cottages, each with its own unique personality and sense of place.
Sleeping arrangements
One suite in the main plantation house (upper level)
For early risers who enjoy the first light on the water, this tranquil eyrie offers a breathtaking view of the ocean.
The “Alexia” Pavilion has two bedrooms and an additional room that can be requested.
Both bedrooms have access to a terrace and views of the ocean. For parents with young children or caregivers, the extra room (available upon request) creates a flexible family wing.
Pavilion “Philippe” — one bedroom
Located in the middle of the garden, it is equipped with two four-poster beds, which is a flexible arrangement for friends, cousins, or siblings who do not share a bed.
One-bedroom “Helen” Pavilion
A king-size bed and an additional bed in an alcove, ideal for a small child who sleeps close by, were features designed with families in mind.
Each bedroom has air conditioning, is decorated with soothing island neutrals, and is positioned to maintain privacy while remaining close to communal areas.
Island pace, daily ease
Mornings start with a stroll across dew-cool grass to check the sea and the aroma of frangipani. The billiards cue clicks, the grill warms, someone sets the terrace table as the sky tilts toward apricot, and afternoons drift between the heated pool and the shaded verandas. With so many pavilions, finding peace and quiet is effortless. Take a nap here, read there, and then gather in the gazebo for sunset while St. Jean’s lights flicker below.
