Casa del Lago
Description
At Casa del Lago, morning arrives softly. A heron rises from the lake, light fills The Links, and the villa opens its doors to the subtle scent of salt and cut grass.
Everything inside is designed for leisurely days: tall glass that frames green and water like a living mural, fully air-conditioned comfort in every bedroom, kitchen, and salon, and cool Coralina stone floors. Later, after beach hours or a round at Teeth of the Dog, the heated pool becomes your favorite spot in the world—steam curling lightly at dusk while the fairway goes quiet and the lake turns gold. The great room drifts into a shaded terrace without a seam, so coffee finds you outside almost by accident.
Casa del Lago is a four-bedroom retreat designed for groups of friends and family who enjoy traveling together but still need space. With a spa-bright bathroom or adjacent bathroom, quiet climate control, and luggage-swallowing storage, suites are designed for true relaxation. By day two, the space feels completely yours. The eye keeps going back to the water, lawn, and sky because the color scheme remains serene—sun-washed neutrals, pale woods, and clean lines. A private-chef evening is as simple as pancakes for early tee times in the kitchen thanks to professional appliances and sensible prep zones; the dining area feels festive without being stiff and opens to the terrace when the breeze calls for a longer meal.
The villa leans into its surroundings outside. A spacious backyard stretches to the lake’s edge, palm trees cast shifting shadows across the lawn, and the terrace has a proper table for barefoot dinners as well as comfortable seating for conversation. The iconic pool is salt-clear, heated for nighttime soaks, and positioned to retain warmth as day gives way to night.
You’ll notice how the house functions in between swims: cross-ventilation when you need it, air conditioning that simply fades into the background when you don’t, Wi-Fi that reacts to a brief call before fading away so the soundtrack reverts to water, palm trees, and the soft sound of sprinklers on fairway grass. The unique combination of a brand-new, fully air-conditioned envelope and a genuinely heated pool situated over The Links’ lake makes Casa del Lago stand out among Casa de Campo villas. These amenities allow the villa to live as elegantly after dark as it does at noon.
Everything that draws you to Casa de Campo is conveniently close by. The Teeth of the Dog clubhouse and spa are about five to ten minutes away by car or golf cart from Minitas Beach and the beach club’s serene, swimmable water.
When golden hour demands stone lanes and gallery light, Altos de Chavón with Dye Fore is about 15–20 minutes above the Río Chavón canyon; the Marina’s restaurants, provisioning, and yacht charters are usually 10–15 minutes along signed, fully paved boulevards; and the Racquet Center and equestrian complex is 10–15 minutes. The Marina center is 10 to 15 minutes away for groceries and pharmacy counters; more extensive options in La Romana town are 15 to 20 minutes away.
On the map, locate Casa del Lago at roughly 18.41° N, 68.91° W on the south shore of Casa de Campo, close to The Links’ lakes. Arrivals are simple: depending on traffic, it takes 10 to 15 minutes to get to La Romana International Airport (LRM), 50 to 60 minutes to get to Punta Cana International (PUJ), and 75 to 90 minutes to get to Santo Domingo’s Las Américas (SDQ). A private SUV transfer is the simplest way to get started, and once you’re settled in, a golf cart is perfect for beach, tennis, and marina hops. The last 1-2 kilometers inside the resort follow level, clearly marked lanes that any vehicle can easily navigate.
In the end, Casa del Lago’s lakefront, Links-side view, rare heated pool, and fully air-conditioned indoor-outdoor layout set it apart from similar Casa de Campo villas, creating a home that invites you to stay outside late under the stars and wake up early to water and light.
Three things to do in the area
• Play a front-nine at Teeth of the Dog and linger over a sea-view lunch at the clubhouse. • Start the day with a swim at Minitas Beach, followed by espresso at the beachside café.
• At dusk, explore Altos de Chavón for dinner on the plaza, galleries, and views of the canyon.
