La Serenite
Description
With windows open to garden light, sunlit walls tucked into a ring of palms, and the gentle push of the trade winds threading every room, La Serenite emerges when you follow the quiet lanes of Los Lagos and the resort hum fades to a whisper.
In the center of Casa de Campo, this simple, healing retreat is designed for how we really enjoy vacationing: spacious gathering areas that extend onto a pool terrace, as well as private areas like shaded verandas, a window seat beneath fronds, and a serene master suite where time seems to stand still and the only clock is the breeze. Limewash and light woods, stone that remains cool at noon, and large glass panes that transform the hibiscus and lawn into your everyday artwork are all part of the interior color scheme, which remains light and airy.
With full air conditioning, hotel-weight linens, and garden views that make waking up feel like entering the tropics, four bedrooms—the main retreat and three peaceful guest suites—are designed for peaceful sleep.
The house’s center opens smoothly to the outside. A built-in BBQ anchors long, barefoot meals that migrate from the kitchen pass to a shaded table under the eaves; the heated jacuzzi softens into the blue hour; and a crystal-clear pool attracts the morning sun.
The backyard is a combination of a room and a small park: paths wind through banana and bougainvillea before leading back to the water’s edge; an old, wide-armed tree provides honest shade over lawn loungers; a hammock sways just enough for a nap or a chapter. Enter through the garden gate and follow the lanes lined with palm trees. Minitas Beach, where the bay lies calm for swims, SUP sessions, and an espresso at the beachfront café, is just a leisurely 8–12-minute walk or 3–5 minutes by golf cart.
Every day at La Serenite has its own rhythm. Start with laps while the gardens are still awake and the pool is glass; return from a lesson at the Racquet Center or a round on Teeth of the Dog to a late lunch off the grill; slide into the jacuzzi as the sky turns copper and the palms become silent.
Evenings draw you to the living room, where the doors remain open and the trade winds act as air conditioning, or to the terrace lit by lanterns. La Serenite is one of the most hospitable Casa de Campo villas for families, couples traveling together, or friends planning a long weekend that feels like a week because of this balance—open social spaces and genuine privacy, contemporary comfort wrapped in greenery.
You don’t have to press in for anything you came here for. Minitas Beach is about 8–12 minutes away on foot (3–5 minutes by cart) from the front drive; the Teeth of the Dog clubhouse and spa is 5–10 minutes away by car or cart; the Racquet Center and the equestrian complex are 10–15 minutes away; Altos de Chavón and the Dye Fore course above the Río Chavón canyon are 15–20 minutes away for stone lanes, galleries, and river views.
For map orientation, locate La Serenite at roughly 18.41° N, 68.91° W on the south shore of the resort in the Los Lagos enclave. Door-to-door arrivals are simple and completely paved: Santo Domingo—Las Américas (SDQ) takes 75–90 minutes, depending on traffic; La Romana International (LRM) takes 10–15 minutes; Punta Cana (PUJ) takes 50–60 minutes. Once you’re settled in, a golf cart keeps beach, spa, tennis, and marina hops delightfully short. The last 1-2 km of the resort follow level, well-signed estate lanes that are comfortable for any vehicle. A private SUV transfer is the easiest way to get started.
La Serenite’s unique combination of a walk-to-beach Los Lagos address and a true sanctuary layout—open-air living, a shaded legacy tree over an expansive yard, a heated jacuzzi, and four serene suites—is what ultimately sets it apart from similar Casa de Campo villas. This layout offers true tranquility and hotel-level ease just minutes from everything.
Three things to do in the area
• Swim at Minitas Beach to start the day, then spend time at the beachside café enjoying espresso and fresh fruit. • At dusk, explore Altos de Chavón for galleries, canyon views, and dinner on the plaza; play a front-nine at Teeth of the Dog and extend into a long, sea-view lunch at the clubhouse.
