Some groups are too large for a villa and too private for a hotel. Villa Sugar Sands was built for exactly that space between. Set on an elevated plain on the southeast of the island, with the Aegean stretching out below and Mykonos Town a fifteen-minute drive away, this eighteen-bedroom estate gives a large party the run of a five-star property entirely to itself — close enough to the action, far enough that, once the gates close, you would never know the island’s crowds existed.
A main residence, three guesthouses and three additional guestrooms are arranged so every couple, family and generation keeps its own front door. It belongs to the island’s most exclusive collection of homes, and it carries the service standard to match.
THE HOUSE
The 700-square-metre main villa anchors the estate, opening onto living and dining spaces that flow straight to the terraces and the sea beyond. Around it, three self-contained guesthouses and three further guestrooms give the property its rare quality: total togetherness when the group wants it, complete separation when it doesn’t. A dedicated playroom — corner sofa, foosball, its own Smart TV and fridge — keeps younger guests happily occupied.
THE SUITES
Eighteen bedrooms, each with a private en-suite shower room, dressed in a calm, sea-toned Greek palette and finished with plush Simmons mattresses. Every room offers a 50-inch Smart TV, safe, hairdryer, ceiling fan, air conditioning and Wi-Fi; several open directly to the gardens or terraces, and several more have independent entrances. The villa also configures to eleven bedrooms for smaller bookings — useful flexibility for groups between sizes.
THE OUTDOORS
The multi-level terrace is the heart of the house, crowned by two infinity pools set against lush greenery and the open sea. Stylish sunbeds line the water, an outdoor sound system carries through the terraces, and shaded chill-out corners offer refuge from the Cycladic sun. An outdoor kitchen and barbecue turn long lunches into the day’s main event, and a fully equipped gym handles the mornings after.
