Punta Cana Honeymoon Villas: For Two, or for the Wedding Party

Published on November 6, 2026 by Haute Retreats

Updated November 2026

A honeymoon in Punta Cana is usually one of two trips: a week for two in a house that is entirely yours, or the days after the wedding with the families and friends who flew in for it. This guide picks the Punta Cana villa rentals that suit each, from a four-bedroom house on the golf course to an estate on its own cove, and says when to go and what the concierge arranges.

The west-facing infinity pool and palapa of Casa Calma at sunset, Puntacana Resort and Club
Casa Calma, Puntacana Resort and Club: the pool faces the sunset

The short answer. For two, Casa Calma or Villa Spero inside Puntacana Resort and Club, ten minutes from the airport, with a cook and the beach clubs a cart ride away. For a honeymoon on the sand, Las Hamacas on Juanillo Beach in Cap Cana. For the wedding party, Villa Oceania on its private cove or Casa Del Mar on the beach. December to April is the dry season; April is our pick.

For two: the smaller houses inside Puntacana Resort and Club

Puntacana Resort and Club is the gated estate beside the airport, about ten minutes from the terminal, with two golf courses, the beach clubs at Playa Blanca and La Cana, a spa and the restaurants of the village. For a couple it has one advantage over Cap Cana: the smaller houses. A four- or five-bedroom villa for two is not extravagant here; it is the house, the pool and the staff to yourselves, with nothing to share.

Casa Calma

Puntacana Resort & Club · 5 bedrooms

A hand-crafted house of limewashed walls and woven fibres, collected by its owners, a writer and a fashion editor, from Spain, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. The infinity pool faces west with a 55-foot swim lane and a submerged bench for watching the sun go into the water. La Cana Beach Club is five to ten minutes by cart, Playa Blanca eight to twelve.

Villa Spero

Puntacana Resort & Club · 4 bedrooms

The smallest house in this guide and the easiest for two: a modern four-bedroom villa on the golf course, a pool placed to catch the first light, a jacuzzi for the evening, and a ground-floor master suite that opens straight onto the pool terrace.

Tortuga C41

Tortuga, Puntacana Resort & Club · golf view

Classic architecture, the fairway just beyond the hedge, a shaded terrace for the midday hours and a jacuzzi set a little apart in the garden. A butler and a housekeeper come with the house.

Tortuga Bay C20

Tortuga Bay, Puntacana Resort & Club · 5 bedrooms · sleeps 12

A series of buildings around the pool, with a dining gazebo, a sun deck, a full-size daybed and a hammock. A butler, a housekeeper and a gardener, and the La Cana clubhouse with its pool, restaurant and spa as part of the stay.

On the beach: Juanillo, Cap Cana

If the honeymoon has to be on the sand, it is Juanillo, the white, shallow, gated beach of Cap Cana, about fifteen minutes from the airport, with the marina and its restaurants a few minutes inland. The houses here are larger, which matters less when two people have them to themselves.

Las Hamacas

Playa Juanillo, Cap Cana · 6 bedrooms · sleeps 12

A veranda a few feet from the beach, inside the gated roads of Cap Cana, with the dining of the marina just outside the gate and Punta Espada a short ride away for a morning of golf.

With the families and friends: the larger houses

Many of our honeymoon bookings are the week after a wedding in Punta Cana, with parents, siblings and friends staying on. Then the house needs room for everyone and a chef, so that the couple is looked after rather than hosting.

Villa Oceania

Cap Cana · 6 bedrooms · sleeps 14

Every room faces a protected cove with the house’s own dock and a small beach. A chef sets the menu in the morning; a media room keeps the evening quiet by the pool; the Cap Cana coastline opens up by boat for a picnic on a sandbar.

Villa Eden

Puntacana Resort & Club · 6 bedrooms · sleeps 12

Large terraces, a private lap pool and a full house team: a chef, a butler, a housekeeper, a garden caretaker and a concierge. Six en-suite bedrooms, so each couple in the group has its own.

Casa Del Mar

Playa Juanillo, Cap Cana · 7 bedrooms · sleeps 16

A two-acre private section of Juanillo, refurbished in 2025: an oceanfront infinity lap pool, a hot tub and a cold plunge, beach cruisers and kayaks by the sand. The wedding party steps from the living room onto the beach.

Planning a Punta Cana honeymoon

  • When: December to April is the dry season; April is our pick, with the weather of March and the crowds gone. May and November are the quiet shoulders. Hurricane season runs June to November, with the peak from August to October. The months are in the best time to visit Punta Cana.
  • How far ahead: nine to twelve months for Christmas, New Year, Presidents’ Day, Easter and the summer weeks; six to nine months for the rest of spring and autumn.
  • What the concierge arranges: a chef dinner on the terrace the first night, a massage in the villa, a day on a private boat to Saona Island, a sunset at the marina, tee times at Punta Espada or Corales. Tell us the dates of the wedding and we plan the week around them.
  • Getting there: nonstop flights from about twenty US cities, in direct flights from the United States to Punta Cana; the villas are ten to fifteen minutes from the terminal.
  • The beaches: which are calm, which are gated and which to see once, in the best beaches in Punta Cana; the houses on the sand in beachfront villas in Punta Cana.

Punta Cana honeymoon villas: your questions answered

Is Punta Cana good for a honeymoon?

Yes, for a particular kind of honeymoon: calm, warm sea most of the year, gated estates with white beaches ten to fifteen minutes from the airport, nonstop flights from about twenty US cities, and houses with a pool, a cook and a concierge that two people can have to themselves.

What is the best villa in Punta Cana for a honeymoon?

For two, Casa Calma or Villa Spero inside Puntacana Resort and Club: the smaller houses, with a cook, a pool and the beach clubs a cart ride away. For a honeymoon on the beach, Las Hamacas on Juanillo in Cap Cana. For the days after a wedding with the families, Villa Oceania on its private cove or Casa Del Mar on the sand.

Can two people rent a whole villa in Punta Cana?

Yes. Rates are per villa, not per person, so a couple takes the whole house. The four- and five-bedroom houses in Puntacana Resort and Club are the natural choice; tell us your dates and we quote the houses that suit two.

When is the best time for a honeymoon in Punta Cana?

December to April, the dry season. April is our pick: the weather of March with the crowds gone. May and November are quiet and still warm. Hurricane season runs June to November with the peak from August to October.

Do the honeymoon villas come with a chef?

Casa Calma has a cook, Villa Eden and Villa Oceania a chef, Tortuga Bay C20 and Tortuga C41 a butler and housekeeper; where a house has no chef, we arrange one. Food is billed separately; the menus are agreed with your concierge before you arrive.

How far ahead should we book a honeymoon villa in Punta Cana?

Nine to twelve months for Christmas, New Year, Presidents’ Day, Easter and the summer weeks, six to nine months for the rest of spring and autumn. Weddings are usually booked before the honeymoon, so the honeymoon house goes last: tell us the wedding date first.

The week after the wedding

Tell us the dates, whether it is the two of you or the whole party, and what you want the week to be. A Punta Cana specialist replies within 24 hours with three to five houses that fit, and their current rates.
