Seasons in Thailand
Thailand has three seasons in most Thailand: hot, cool, and rainy. Please keep in mind that the seasons change depending in which area of the country.
In Central Thailand and Northeast Thailand the hot season runs from February to June. From June and October there is the rainy season, the cool season makes up the remaining months of October to February. The best destinations in Central Thailand are Bangkok, Lopburi, Kanchanaburi and Ayutthaya.

From February to April in Northern Thailand there is the hot season, while the rainy from May to September. The rest of the months are the cool season (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Pai).
Depending on the coast, in the south of Thailand are different. There are two seasons: wet and dry. The dry season is between January and August in the Gulf coast. In the Andaman Coast the dry season from November to March.

January
In January you should go and enjoy the southern beaches on both coasts. It is peak time and there are sunny days. You will enjoy cooler temperatures in the central and northern areas, perfect for trekking in the jungle or sightseeings.
If you are near the area of Bo Sang you can go and experience the annual Umbrella Festival. If you travel in the South part you should not miss the Bay Regatta.
February
This is another perfect month to visit Thailand. You should not miss a romantic boat ride at the Red Lotus Seas in Udon Thani.
It is also the month of the celebration of the Chinese New Year, which typically falls in February.
Head to Prachinburi’s Makha Bucha fair for processions, cultural demonstrations, and a lantern release.

March
March is still a good month even though the temperature starts to heat up. We suggest to head to the Similan Islands and along the Andaman Coast for the best diving adventures.
If you are a nature lover you should experience the Turtle Release Festival in Phang Nga.
April
One of the hottest months to visit Thailand is for sure April. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water and have sunscreen on all the time.
April 6th is a public holiday and in Thailand they celebrate the start of Chakri Dynasty.
May
May is another hot month in Thailand. It is great to visit and explore the offbeat destinations.
You should not miss The World Durian Fruit Festival if you visit Thailand in May.
June
In June you will experience more showers, so you should always carry an umbrella.
Don’t miss the colourful fields of Siam tulips at Pa Hin Ngam National Park in Chaiyaphum.
July
July is a wet month all around Thailand. You should avoid trekking or forest explorations. However July and August are the best months if you like diving, especially around the area of Koh Tao.

August
The wettest month in Thailand. You should visit Bangkok from the temples, to the museums, art galleries, and malls make it a perfect city come rain or shine.
If you like culture and food you should not miss Hua Hin Food Festival.
September
In September the rains is not too bad beside in the Andaman coast, where there is the wettest month of the year.
You should check out the rainforests during this month.
October
In general in Thailand during this month there is dry weather and the temperatures start to fall. The islands in general are wet.
November
In Thailand there is dry season with moderate temperatures and plenty of sunshine. Andemand Coast is at its best along with Koh Chang and other islands along the eastern Gulf. The western Thai Gulf is, however, still rainy and stormy.
December
One of the peak season months in Thailand. Great weather all around the country.
Temperatures are, for the most part, comfortable, without being too hot or too cold. There’s little to no rainfall, and the beaches have lots of sun.
