Booking a Caribbean Villa for Christmas: The Timeline From First Call to Christmas Eve

Published on October 12, 2026 by Angelica Crudo

Book a Caribbean villa for Christmas nine to twelve months ahead: on every island, the holiday weeks and the largest houses go first. A booking in October or November can still work when the island and the dates are flexible. This is the timeline our team follows, worked back from Christmas Eve, with the holiday minimum stays and the staff taken from the listings of houses in our collection of luxury Caribbean villas.

Nine to twelve months ahead: the island, then the house

The first decision is the island, and it shapes the week more than the house does: Turks and Caicos for calm water and easy flights, St Barts for restaurants and New Year’s Eve, Anguilla for quiet and a private chef, the Dominican Republic for the largest groups. Our guide to the best Caribbean island for Christmas compares the four.

The second is the size of the house, and here the choice narrows quickly. In our Caribbean collection, the houses that sleep twenty or more include ÀNI Dominican Republic (28 guests), Dream Estate at Ambergris Cay and Villa Hawksbill (22 each), and Villa Le Bleu and ÀNI Anguilla (20 each). The largest houses go first, which is why the brief comes before the browsing.

Holiday minimum stays, house by house

Over Christmas and New Year, most houses set two separate periods, each with its own minimum stay. These are the holiday periods on each listing for 2026 and early 2027; we confirm the minimum for your dates in writing.

In St Barts, holiday minimums are set villa by villa, and we confirm them for your dates.

When you choose the house: everything in writing

Staff and inclusions differ from house to house, and we set them out before you pay. At Corales 40 in Punta Cana, the chef cooks three meals a day and the housekeepers come seven days a week; at Villa Paradisa, housekeeping, a butler, a chef and round-trip airport transfers are included; at Villa Hawksbill, the chef comes with the house and the groceries are added to the stay; at the two ÀNI resorts and at Dream Estate, meals, drinks and the spa are part of the stay.

Read the holidays into it. In St Barts, the daily maid service in our villas pauses on Sundays and, at some houses, on public holidays, which include Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Ask at this stage for the plan for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: who cooks, at what time and for how many.

Twenty-one days before you land: the Haute Standard

Every booking runs on the same 21-day pre-arrival protocol. Your preferences and dietary needs are captured, the house team is briefed, provisioning is set, transfers are timed to your flights, and a written run-of-stay reaches you before you leave home.

For Christmas, send three things early: the menu that matters most (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or both), any allergy with its severity, and the flights of every family in the group. With those, the shopping, the kitchen and the transfers are planned before anyone lands.

Concierge note: when a group arrives on several flights, send every flight number, so that each family has its own transfer timed to its landing.

Arrival and the holidays

Every guest is greeted in person on arrival with a welcome amenity chosen for the house, and a member of the local team is on hand throughout the stay. In St Barts, our villas include a meet and greet at the airport or the port; at Dream Estate, the transfer and the short flight from Providenciales to Ambergris Cay are part of the stay; at ÀNI Dominican Republic, one round-trip airport transfer is included. Over the holidays, your 24/7 concierge arranges the boats, the chefs, the drivers and the tables.

Booking in October or November

It is later than we advise, but it can still work. Three things widen the choice: ask for two islands rather than one; look at both holiday weeks, since most houses set Christmas week and New Year week as separate periods; and tell us early if the group could split between two houses close to each other. A specialist replies within 24 hours with the houses still open for your dates.

Five mistakes that cost a holiday week

  • Choosing the house before the island. The island decides the flights, the staff and the pace of the week.
  • Circulating a shortlist for weeks. The holiday weeks and the largest houses go first; a house that waits for a decision may be gone when it comes.
  • Signing without reading the minimum stay and the staff. Both are set house by house, and both are in writing before you pay.
  • Sending dietary needs and flights late. The pre-arrival protocol starts 21 days before you land.
  • Expecting the same service every day. In St Barts, housekeeping pauses on Sundays and, at some houses, on public holidays; chefs’ hours differ from house to house.

More for a Caribbean Christmas

Booking a Caribbean villa for Christmas: your questions answered

How far in advance should we book a Caribbean villa for Christmas?

Nine to twelve months ahead, as for every holiday week. The holiday weeks and the largest houses go first on every island, so for Christmas 2027 the time to book is between December 2026 and March 2027.

Is it too late to book a Caribbean villa for Christmas in October?

It depends on the island and the dates. Ask for two islands and both holiday weeks, and a specialist replies within 24 hours with the houses still open for your dates.

Do villas set different minimum stays for Christmas and New Year?

Most do. At Villa Paradisa, five nights from December 18 to 25 and seven from December 26; at Villa Le Bleu, seven nights for each week; at Villa Awa, ten nights for an arrival on December 26. The two ÀNI resorts set one period of seven nights from December 18 to January 10.

What happens in the 21 days before arrival?

Your preferences and dietary needs are captured, the house team is briefed, provisioning is set and transfers are timed to your flights. A written run-of-stay reaches you before you leave home.

Can the villa chef cook our Christmas dinner?

Yes, at houses where a chef is included, such as Villa Le Bleu, Kishti West and Corales 40. The menus and the shopping are set in the 21 days before you arrive; at houses where the groceries are charged separately, the shopping is added to the stay.

Is housekeeping included on Christmas Day?

It depends on the house. In St Barts, the daily maid service in our villas pauses on Sundays and, at some houses, on public holidays, which include Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. At the staffed houses in Turks and Caicos, Anguilla and the Dominican Republic, the staff included are set out in writing before you book.

Updated October 2026. Minimum stays, staff and inclusions were checked against each listing on October 12, 2026.
