Villa Le Bleu

Le Bleu stands on two and a half acres at the edge of Little Harbour, on the quiet south shore of Anguilla. Lawns run down to two private beaches. Across the water, St. Martin and St. Barths sit low on the horizon, and between the terrace and the sea there is nothing but sea grape and light.

Behind the gates of Little Harbour Estates, the estate runs to twenty-five thousand square feet across two residences joined by landscaped paths and water gardens. The palette is cool white, natural linen and warm wood. The doors are wide and generally open. Eleven suites, eleven and a half bathrooms, twenty guests — taken whole, never divided.

Nine of the suites are in the main house, each with its own bathroom, most opening onto a terrace with the sea directly in front of it. They are named for shades of the water. Below them: a formal dining room, a chef’s kitchen built for a working brigade, a private cinema with a state-of-the-art audio system and a library running to several thousand films, a games room and a fitness suite.

Le Bleu Garden Suites sits a short walk across the lawn — two king suites whose dressing rooms open into open-air bathrooms built around freeform stone tubs and basins, with their own forty-foot pool, a lounge that converts to a conference room, a poolside barbecue and a separate kitchen. Families give it to the older children. Couples travelling within a larger party take it for the distance.

The infinity pool sits above the sea, with a second pool at the Garden Suites and an outdoor hot tub between them. There is a floodlit tennis court with its own pavilion, kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment at the water’s edge, and swimming inside Little Harbour calm enough for the youngest guests. Volleyball, soccer and basketball nets stand on the lawns. Dinner moves as the week moves — the formal room, the covered terrace, and the waterside deck, eighty feet by forty, which seats the entire house.

What sets Le Bleu apart is the house itself running quietly around you. The estate is fully staffed: a full-time chef with an assistant and a dedicated food and beverage team, a butler, an estate manager, a guest relations manager, housekeeping seven days a week with evening turndown, personal laundry, security and concierge. Menus are planned with the chef before arrival and the kitchen provisioned to the party’s own taste rather than served from a fixed carte. Shopping, arrangements and everything beyond the gates are handled without being asked twice.

Anguilla is a small island with a serious appetite, and Le Bleu sits close to all of it. Clayton J. Lloyd International is four and a half kilometres away, Blowing Point ferry a little over three — St. Barths and St. Martin are a morning, not an expedition. Championship golf at Aurora is six kilometres, Rendezvous Bay under seven, and the long white sand of Shoal Bay ten.
