Dream Estate at Ambergris Cay All Inclusive Private Island
Description
Dream Estate is the largest villa on Ambergris Cay, a private island of more than 1,100 acres on the south-eastern edge of the Turks and Caicos, looking out over the Caicos Banks. Eleven bedrooms are spread across two connected villas, two oceanfront bungalows and two courtyard cottages, with four heated pools, gardens and terraces between them, and two private entrances onto the beach. The house is fully staffed with its own island hosts, and everything beyond the gate is included: meals in the island’s restaurants, premium drinks, the spa, the sports, the watersports equipment, the golf carts and the transfers from the airport. It is a house for a family or a group that wants an entire island to itself without the logistics of chartering one.
Where is Ambergris Cay, and how do I get there?
Ambergris Cay lies about 600 miles south of Miami, at the quiet end of the Turks and Caicos archipelago beside the Caicos Banks, one of the largest shallow-water flats in the world. The island has been largely left alone: 1,100 acres of low scrub, dunes and empty white beaches, with a small resort community that opened in 2019 and no public access at all.
Arrival is the part guests remember. The island has its own 5,700-foot private runway, which takes aircraft up to ninety-two feet, so a private jet lands on the island itself. On commercial routes, American Airlines flies Miami to South Caicos, from where the transfer to Ambergris Cay takes ten minutes; guests arriving into Providenciales are met at the Atlantic Aviation FBO and flown over in twenty minutes. Every transfer is complimentary.
On the island nobody drives: each party is given personal golf carts, and the beaches, restaurants and clubhouse are minutes apart.
What are the beaches like?
The estate has two private entrances directly onto the sand. The beaches here are the reason the island exists: long, pale, almost always empty, with the shallow turquoise of the Caicos Banks on one side and deeper Atlantic water on the other. Because the island is private, they are genuinely deserted, not simply quiet.
The waters around Ambergris Cay are protected and exceptional. The Banks are among the best bonefishing flats anywhere, the drop-off at the edge of the shelf is serious diving and snorkelling country, and humpback whales pass through between January and April, when whale-watching goes out from the island.
How is the estate arranged?
Eleven bedrooms and twelve and a half bathrooms, across four separate structures joined by gardens and terraces, which is what makes it work for a large party: everyone has a door of their own.
The main house holds the master, a king suite with its own jacuzzi and an indoor-outdoor shower, and five further king bedrooms, all en suite, one of which can be made up as twins. Two oceanfront bungalows each have a king bed, an outdoor shower, a daybed and a soaking tub. Two courtyard cottages each have a king bed and an outdoor shower. Four heated private pools are spread across the property, so the group is never sharing one.
Indoors there is a fully equipped kitchen, and the living spaces open to the terraces and gardens throughout.
Is the estate staffed?
Fully, with dedicated island hosts assigned to the house, the island’s equivalent of a private butler team. They handle the day: breakfast, the plans, the carts, the reservations, the beach set-up, the details of a birthday or an anniversary.
What is included in the stay?
Ambergris Cay is all-inclusive in a way very few private islands genuinely are. Included: à la carte meals at the island’s two oceanfront restaurants, Calico and the Club House, prepared from local and seasonal ingredients with menus adapted to any dietary requirement; cocktails made with premium spirits, and wine and drinks throughout; poolside service and beach picnics; the spa; the fitness pavilion with Peloton equipment and yoga classes; tennis; the kids’ club and the daily activities programme; watersports equipment including kayaks and paddleboards; personal golf carts; and all transfers to and from the airport.
The Haute Retreats concierge arranges the rest before arrival: private jet, bonefishing guides, diving, fishing charters, whale watching in season, spa treatments in the house, and anything a celebration needs.
Who is Dream Estate right for?
Multigenerational families, groups of friends and milestone celebrations of up to twenty-two, and private gatherings that want to be genuinely unreachable. The combination is rare: a house large enough for four generations, a staff that runs it, an island with restaurants, a spa and a kids’ club so that nobody is catering for themselves, and a runway that brings a jet to the door. It suits Christmas and New Year, a significant birthday, or a February week when the whales are passing.
Good to know
All-inclusive rate covering dining, drinks, activities, golf carts and airport transfers. The island has its own private runway for aircraft up to ninety-two feet. No cars; golf carts throughout. Minimum stay, deposit, house rules and full terms confirmed at booking.
A few days at Dream Estate
Fish the Caicos Banks at first light with a guide, then lunch on the beach with the boat pulled up on the sand.
Dive the wall at the edge of the shelf, and snorkel the shallows in the afternoon.
Watch for humpbacks from the terrace between January and April, or go out to meet them.
Stay home: four pools, two beaches, a barbecue laid out under the stars, and no one else on the island who has not come with you.
