Direct Flights from New York

Nonstop Caribbean service from New York remains strong in 2026, with options from JFK and Newark to Barbados, Turks & Caicos, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Grand Cayman, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas. Here are some of the best nonstop routes from New York to the Caribbean islands.

Barbados

Airlines: JetBlueFlight time: ~4h 45mBGI

Barbados offers seamless access from JFK and Newark, making it ideal for a quick luxury getaway. Known for its celebrity appeal, white-sand beaches, world-famous Mount Gay rum, and a collection of five-star hotels and opulent homes, this Caribbean gem has it all. Luxury villas sit mainly along the west coast, a short 30-minute drive from Grantley Adams International. See our travel guide to Barbados for more.

Turks & Caicos

Airlines: Delta, JetBlue, American, UnitedFlight time: ~3h 30mPLS

Providenciales is the go-to for luxury travellers, with an exceptional selection of high-end villas, gourmet restaurants, chic boutiques, and some of the Caribbean’s most breathtaking beachfront resorts. Many premier hotels line world-famous Grace Bay Beach. Explore more in our essential guide to Turks and Caicos.

Most flights depart JFK, though United also serves Montego Bay from Newark in about 4h 5m, and JetBlue and Caribbean Airlines fly to Kingston (KIN) in roughly 3h 45m. The moment you land, Jamaica’s rhythm takes over — reggae, warm hospitality, and dishes like jerk chicken, fried plantain, ackee and saltfish. St. Lucia

Airlines: JetBlue, UnitedFlight time: ~4h 30mUVF

One of the Caribbean’s top honeymoon destinations, St. Lucia is famed for the twin Pitons, pristine beaches, and dramatic landscapes. Fly JFK–Hewanorra with JetBlue (~4h 30m) or Newark with United (~4h 40m). Hewanorra sits in the south, about a 90-minute drive (or scenic helicopter transfer) from the northern villa belt.

The Cayman Islands

Airlines: JetBlue, Cayman Airways, UnitedFlight time: ~4h 20mGCM

You’ll land on Grand Cayman, the main international hub, where the compact airport keeps customs quick. Known for world-class watersports — from wreck and cave diving to Stingray City — the Caymans also connect by short hop to Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

Saint Martin / Sint Maarten

Airlines: American, Delta, JetBlue, UnitedFlight time: ~4h 10mSXM

“The Friendly Island” is shared between France and the Netherlands. Famous Princess Juliana Airport sits right beside Maho Beach, where jets roar overhead. Stay on either side for beaches, villas, dining, casinos and nightlife — and Anguilla is a short ferry ride away.

Dominican Republic

Airlines: Delta, JetBlue, UnitedFlight time: ~4h 10mPUJ

One of the most accessible Caribbean destinations from New York. For a luxury escape we recommend flying into Punta Cana, home to top resorts; JetBlue also serves Santo Domingo from New York in about 3h 40m. The DR is home to landmark addresses including Casa de Campo, Punta Cana, and Cap Cana.

Now Nonstop from the USA

Anguilla: Direct Flights from Miami

Long one of the Caribbean’s hardest-to-reach luxury islands, Anguilla is now a straightforward nonstop. American Airlines flies daily from Miami (MIA) into Anguilla’s Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA) — the first scheduled nonstop service between the U.S. mainland and the island, launched in December 2023. For travellers headed to Anguilla’s celebrated beaches and resorts, it removes the old ferry-and-connection routine entirely.

Flying from another U.S. city? You can still reach Anguilla easily by connecting in San Juan (SJU) — Cape Air and Tradewind Aviation run short scheduled hops to AXA — or by flying into St. Maarten (SXM) and taking the 20–25 minute ferry or a brief Anguilla Air Express flight across to the island.

Atlanta Departures

Travellers based in the Southeast have the densest direct-Caribbean network of any U.S. hub. Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL) operates nonstop service to Turks & Caicos, Punta Cana, Jamaica, Nassau, Barbados, Aruba, Grand Cayman, St. Lucia and Antigua — most under four hours on Delta. See our complete guide to flights from Atlanta for full schedules, flight times and matching villa destinations.

Direct Flights from London

Flying from London? Specify the airport in your planning. British Airways currently serves Antigua and St. Lucia from Gatwick, Barbados from Heathrow (with Gatwick winter flights added from October 2026), and both Jamaica and the Dominican Republic from Heathrow and Gatwick. Bermuda also remains a direct option from London.

  • Antigua — ~8h 40m to stunning beaches and crystal-clear water.
  • Barbados — ~8h 50m to beaches, colonial charm and a lively music scene.
  • Bermuda — ~7h 30m to pink-sand beaches and pastel-coloured houses.
  • Dominican Republic — ~9h 20m to beaches and lush rainforest.
  • Jamaica (Montego Bay) — ~10 hours to beaches, markets and cuisine.
  • St. Lucia — ~9 hours to dramatic landscapes and luxury resorts.

Islands You Reach by a Short Connection or Charter

A handful of the Caribbean’s most exclusive islands still have no nonstop commercial service from the U.S. and are reached by a short connecting flight, ferry, or private charter — part of what keeps them so private. St. Barth’s is reached via St. Maarten (SXM) or San Juan (SJU) by short regional flight or ferry; Mustique connects through Barbados or St. Vincent. (Anguilla recently joined the nonstop club — see the Miami section above.)

A private charter is the most seamless way onto these islands, with the flexibility of your own schedule. Planning St. Barts villas or another fly-and-connect escape? Haute Retreats can arrange private charters and jets alongside your villa.

Plan Your Caribbean Getaway

With the nonstop options above mapped out, the next step is matching the right island and villa to your dates and group. From the beaches of Aruba to the rainforests of St. Lucia, the Caribbean spans every kind of trip — relaxation, adventure, or cultural immersion — and our team can handle accommodations, activities, and the seamless logistics in between.

Best Time to Visit

The Caribbean is warm year-round, but the peak season runs December to April, when the weather is dry and temperatures are pleasant. For better value and fewer crowds, consider the shoulder seasons (May–June and November), when rates drop and the weather is still largely favourable. Note that the Atlantic hurricane season officially runs June through November.

Travel Insurance

It’s always wise to arrange travel insurance when planning a Caribbean trip. A comprehensive policy can cover the unexpected — flight cancellations, medical emergencies, or trip interruptions — so choose one that matches the value and length of your stay.

Local Customs and Etiquette

The Caribbean is known for warm, friendly locals. Greet people with a smile and a “hello” or “good morning,” and ask permission before photographing people or their property. Respect local traditions and dress codes, especially at religious sites or cultural events.

Currency and Payment

The U.S. dollar is widely accepted across much of the Caribbean, but most islands have their own currency — the Eastern Caribbean dollar (in Anguilla, Antigua, St. Lucia and others), the Barbadian dollar, the Jamaican dollar, and so on — while a few, such as Turks & Caicos and the U.S. Virgin Islands, use the U.S. dollar officially. Major credit cards are accepted at hotels, villas and larger venues; carry some local cash for markets and smaller purchases.
