Casa Ariana Porroig
Description
Porroig is the quiet answer to the question of where to stay in Ibiza. A small private peninsula on the island’s south-west coast, it is one of the most protected addresses on the island precisely because almost nothing happens there: a handful of houses, a cove with a famous fish restaurant, and the sea. Casa Ariana sits on it with uninterrupted views across the coastline and the green hills behind, recently and completely renovated — floor-to-ceiling glass, a designer kitchen, an infinity pool that reads as an extension of the Mediterranean, and a rooftop bar and lounge for the part of the Ibizan day that begins at sunset. Four king bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, housekeeping five days a week, and the clubs a quarter of an hour away. Among the Ibiza villas we represent, this is the one for guests who want the south-west coast without the crowd.
Where exactly is Casa Ariana?
The villa stands on the Porroig peninsula, in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, on the stretch of coast between Cala Jondal and Es Cubells. This is the island’s most desirable corner, and it is desirable for a reason: cliffs, pine, a few private estates, and no development.
Es Torrent, the pebble cove with one of the best fish restaurants on the island, is 1.9 km away, four minutes by car. The nearest restaurant is just over a kilometre. Blue Marlin at Cala Jondal is 2.8 km, ten minutes. Sant Josep town, for the shops and the market, is 8 km and fourteen minutes; the nearest shop is twelve minutes. Ibiza airport is 17.6 km, twenty-six minutes, which is unusually close for a house this private.
For the nights out, the geography works in your favour. Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa at Playa d’en Bossa are twenty-five minutes, Unvrs twenty-nine, Pacha in Ibiza Town twenty-nine. Close enough that a driver brings you home at four in the morning; far enough that nothing reaches the terrace. A car for the week is recommended, and we arrange it.
What is the house like inside?
Three hundred square metres over two levels, and the house inverts the usual logic: the living floor is upstairs, where the view is.
That upper level is one expansive open-plan space, with the sitting area flowing into a designer kitchen finished to a very high specification — fully equipped, with a coffee machine, dishwasher, freezer and a breakfast and bar area. Glazing runs floor to ceiling on the sea side, so the light moves through the room all day and the view is framed from every angle rather than from one window. The whole level opens directly onto the pool terrace, which means lunch, swimming and the kitchen all share the same floor. A guest powder room completes it.
A Sonos system runs through the house and out to the terraces. There is a fitness room, a proper laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, air conditioning and heating throughout, Wi-Fi, an alarm system, and a safe in every bedroom.
The renovation was recent and thorough, and it shows in the materials rather than the decoration: fine stone and timber, precise joinery, and a restrained palette that leaves the sea to supply the colour.
How are the bedrooms arranged?
Four bedrooms, all on the lower level, all with king beds, all with private en-suite bathrooms, all with air conditioning, a television and a safe. Six bathrooms in total across the house. The arrangement gives every couple a genuinely equivalent room, with a different outlook from each.
- Bedroom one — king bed, en-suite bathroom, sea views
- Bedroom two — king bed, en-suite bathroom with a free-standing bath, garden views
- Bedroom three — king bed, en-suite bathroom, private balcony with views over the countryside
- Bedroom four — king bed, en-suite bathroom, direct access to the private gardens and a seating area
Putting the bedrooms below the living floor is what makes this house work for a group: anyone who wants to sleep late is a floor away from breakfast on the terrace. Eight is the maximum, and this is a house that does four couples beautifully rather than one that pretends to sleep twelve.
What is outside?
The infinity pool is the centrepiece, set on the main terrace so that the water line runs straight into the Mediterranean horizon. It can be heated on request, which extends the season at both ends — worth arranging for April, May and October stays on this coast.
The grounds are fully fenced and gated, with private parking, lawns and gardens. Generous terraces around the pool are laid out in zones for sunbathing with parasols, for shaded lounging and for dining, with an outdoor bar, a barbecue, an outdoor fridge and an outdoor shower, and the sound system carried outside.
Above, the rooftop terrace is the house’s best idea. It is designed entirely for the evening: a proper bar, a chill-out lounge, and a wide outlook over the sea and the island. The sun sets to the west over the water from here, which on this side of Ibiza is the event of the day — and when the night moves on to Cala Jondal or Playa d’en Bossa, the rooftop is where it started.
Is the villa staffed?
Housekeeping is included: four hours a day, five days a week, so the house is kept and the beds and bathrooms are looked after without anyone living in. Everything beyond that is arranged through the Haute Retreats concierge — a private chef for the week or for individual dinners, a barman for the rooftop, a butler, childcare, and a driver on call for the nights out.
For most groups the right answer on this island is a chef for breakfast and a few dinners, with the rest of the week spent at Es Torrent, Cala Jondal and in Sant Josep. Tell us how you want the week to run and we build the service around it.
What can the concierge arrange?
Pre-arrival grocery and wine stocking. Private chef, barman and butler. Tables at Es Torrent, Juan y Andrea, Blue Marlin, Cala Bonita and the Ibiza Town restaurants, and beds at the beach clubs. Guest list and tables at Hï, Ushuaïa, Pacha and Unvrs. Boat and yacht charter, with a day at Formentera the one excursion nobody regrets. Jet skis, paddleboards and diving. In-villa massage, yoga, personal training and beauty. Babysitters. Airport transfers, drivers and car hire. Photographers and florists for a birthday or an anniversary week.
Who is Casa Ariana right for?
Four couples, or a family of eight, who want the south-west coast rather than the north: contemporary architecture, a serious pool, a rooftop bar, and the beach clubs and clubs a quarter of an hour away. Children are welcome. It suits a milestone birthday, a group of friends doing Ibiza properly, a honeymoon or a romantic week for two using the whole house, and equally a quiet shoulder-season stay in May or October with the pool heated and Es Torrent half empty.
It is a private house on a residential peninsula rather than a party villa — events are not permitted, and the neighbours are the reason Porroig is Porroig.

A few days at Casa Ariana
Breakfast on the pool terrace, then the four-minute drive down to Es Torrent for the morning on the pebbles and grilled fish at the restaurant on the beach.
A day on a boat to Formentera: Illetes, lunch at Juan y Andrea, and back to the villa for a swim as the light goes.
Sundowners on the rooftop with the bar in use, then Blue Marlin ten minutes away, and Hï or Pacha after midnight with a driver bringing you home.
Spend one day going nowhere at all: the pool, the fitness room, a massage on the terrace, and the chef’s dinner upstairs with the doors open to the sea.
