Ocean Bliss
Description
With Minitas Bay shimmering to your left, the masts of Casa de Campo Marina to your right, and a horizon that seems to stretch the day itself, the world slows to the beat of the Caribbean when you open the seaside doors at Ocean Bliss.
This contemporary oceanfront villa in sought-after Punta Minitas is all about light, air, and carefree living. Mornings start with coffee in the trade winds, and evenings drift into that amber hour when the pool turns to liquid gold and the coastline glows, thanks to an open-plan great room that leads directly to a large, west-facing terrace. A chef’s tasting feels as natural as a barefoot family dinner in the formal dining room, which is situated next to a full bar and a striking wall-to-wall wine cooler. A peaceful, glass-lined office allows you to check in with the world and then immediately leave it, while two distinct media lounges give film nights and major matches their own homes.
Even among the best Casa de Campo villas, each of the six bedroom suites has a private view of the ocean. Private balconies catch the breeze, the water is framed by floor-to-ceiling glass, the en suite bathrooms are tranquil, and the climate is individually controlled to ensure restful, deep sleep.
Either stay in bed and let the skyline speak for you, or wake up to the sound of the surf and go outside before the first boat departs the marina. The sea does the color work and the architecture does the editing because the house’s material palette remains cool and tactile throughout—coralina underfoot, pale oak, and soft linen inside.
Ocean Bliss gets its name from its outdoor lifestyle. The jacuzzi warms with the evening breeze, a timbered gazebo becomes the all-day gathering spot for wood-grilled lunches, stargazing nightcaps, or a lengthy novel with waves as your metronome, and a large, ocean-edge swimming pool draws your gaze to the horizon. Deep, cushioned seating keeps one conversation going from sunrise to last light, and the alfresco kitchen and dedicated BBQ area make service second nature.
The address makes spontaneity easy when you’re ready to trade water for wandering: you’re nestled between Minitas Beach and the Marina, close enough to walk or roll by golf cart but far enough to preserve the quiet of the villa’s shoreline.
The distances are honest and brief. The Racquet Center and equestrian complex are typically ten to fifteen minutes depending on the hour; Altos de Chavón and the Dye Fore course rise fifteen to twenty minutes above the Río Chavón for stone lanes, galleries, and river views at sunset; Minitas Beach is approximately three to five minutes by golf cart or five to eight minutes by car; the Casa de Campo Marina’s restaurants, provisioning, pharmacies, and yacht charters are approximately five to eight minutes by cart or ten by car.
Place Ocean Bliss, which is prominently marked along the resort’s paved boulevards, at roughly 18.41° N, 68.91° W on the map of Punta Minitas.
Logistics and arrival go as smoothly as the architecture. Door-to-door travel to La Romana International Airport (LRM) usually takes ten to fifteen minutes; Punta Cana International (PUJ) takes fifty to sixty minutes; and, depending on traffic, Santo Domingo’s Las Américas (SDQ) takes seventy-five to ninety minutes.
The last one to two kilometers inside the resort follow level, clearly marked estate lanes that are suitable for all vehicle classes; all approach roads are completely paved. The majority of visitors prefer a private SUV transfer upon arrival and a golf cart for the quick trips between the marina, tennis, spa, and beach once they’re settled in.
Here, the days have a soft, maritime rhythm. Start with a swim in the morning when the bay is clear and the pelicans are working the reef; stroll home from a snorkel or paddle to a late lunch on the terrace while the breeze blows through the palms; watch the light fade behind Catalina from the jacuzzi and allow dessert to transform into constellations.
A front-nine at Teeth of the Dog followed by a leisurely, sea-view clubhouse lunch, a golden-hour walk through Altos de Chavón that turns into a plaza dinner above the canyon, and a sunrise lap and espresso at Minitas before the shoreline awakens are three local pleasures to anchor the week.
In the end, what distinguishes Ocean Bliss from other Casa de Campo villas is its actual Punta Minitas oceanfront location between beach and marina, coupled with six bedroom suites with views of the ocean and a unique entertaining stack that includes a formal dining area with a full bar and wine wall, twin media rooms, a dedicated office, and an outdoor kitchen next to a horizon-line pool and jacuzzi. This creates a shoreline haven that is as lovely at noon as it is after dark.
