Villa Tigh-na Mara, Anguilla. Tigh-na Mara, which translates to House by the Sea, lives up easily to that name and is placed along Elsie Bay on Anguilla. Taking its design cues from traditional island styles, it offers a distinctly West Indies look inside and out, and with its bold palette of sea green and cream, its gingerbread-styled trim, and its multi-level living space, it is sure to win you over from the moment you arrive.
Set into a private landscape of mature palms and plantings, it is only a short walk to the beach, but with its remarkable pool house and pool terrace area, as well as the expansive garden to enjoy, you may find all you need on the premises. The villa is divided into the large and spacious main house as well as the large and charming pool house. The latter is a two-story structure which provides classic pool house amenities on the lower level and an enormous master suite on the upper level, including a kitchen and terrace with sea views.
The main house is no slacker and features a multitude of terraces and verandas, some open to the sea air and breezes. It is designed with leisure in mind and features a cozy lounge and media room, an al fresco dining area, a large gourmet kitchen, and a media room. The charm of the vintage style of décor only adds to the overall appeal, and this is prevalent in each room of the house.
The main house has three suites divided between upper and lower levels. All three feature a private, screened terrace where hours of downtime will allow you to relax and recharge. The bedrooms feature king beds and large ensuite baths.
The Tigh-na Mara is the definition of an island hideaway and gives you access to the sea, as well as offering a private little world in which to savor the flawless weather and beautiful setting
