Over the years, luminaries such as Sir Richard Branson, Erwin Schnitzler and Miko Rwayitare have called themselves owners of this outstanding retreat. In 1940, Abraham Michelson purchased this land which housed twenty large oak vats in the cellar, the majority of vines having been planted at the turn of the century. After the second world war Michelson started Franschhoek Winery with Italian farmers. Mont Rochelle keeps the European tradition of excellence abroad. Travel In Style!
