For a Cabo spring break, Los Cabos is a twenty-mile answer to that question. Palmilla, on the Corridor’s eastern end above a protected cove, is where children can be in the water. Palmilla is the Corridor’s most established residential enclave, at its San José end, and the reason it decides so many family spring breaks is a single fact: the beach at Palmilla is one of the few in Los Cabos where the water is protected enough for children to be in the sea. The houses in the Caleta community sit a three-minute walk from that sand, the Palmilla golf course is five to seven minutes away, San José del Cabo’s art district ten to fifteen, and the airport twenty to twenty-five — half the transfer from the hill.

Pedregal — the Cabo spring break for the cliff, the sunset and the privacy

Pedregal is the oldest luxury enclave in Los Cabos and the most dramatic: a gated hill directly behind Cabo San Lucas, the marina and the town at the bottom, the open Pacific at the top, and estates cut into the cliff with terraces stacked down the rock, pools hanging over the surf and elevators between five levels. Nearly every house faces west into the sunset over Land’s End, and several are a walk from the marina. The honest trade is the water: the beach below the hill is a beach to look at, not swim from, and families with small children swim in the pool and drive to the Corridor’s coves for the sea.
