Cap Cana suits a group that wants Punta Cana’s airport fifteen minutes away and a quieter gated community; Punta Cana, around the Puntacana Resort & Club, suits young families who want the beach and the shortest transfer. Casa de Campo villa rental: what it is and what it includes

Casa de Campo is the island’s most complete private resort: 7,000 gated acres on the south coast at La Romana, with three golf courses (Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore and The Links), a marina, the hilltop village of Altos de Chavón, an equestrian centre, a shooting centre, tennis and Minitas Beach. Some of the island’s largest private houses stand along its shoreline, on lawns above the sea, some with their own beach and dock.

A villa here comes with its own household, and how much of one depends on the house: usually a cook or chef and daily housekeeping, often a butler and waiters, sometimes a gardener and golf carts. Food and drink are usually billed at cost. Every guest staying in a private villa also registers with the resort, for a nightly fee set by Casa de Campo; the guest ID it issues opens the golf courses, the beach and the resort’s amenities, and we arrange the registration with the booking.

Cap Cana: the quiet marina at the eastern tip

Cap Cana is the youngest of the three: a gated community at the eastern tip of the island, about fifteen minutes from Punta Cana’s airport, built around a marina and the Punta Espada golf course along the cliffs. The coast here is rock and cove rather than one long beach, and Juanillo Beach is a short drive from most houses. It is quieter than Punta Cana and closer to the airport than Casa de Campo.

Who Cap Cana suits: groups of ten to twenty who want a short transfer and a quiet community, and for whom a beach a few minutes away is enough. Who it does not: families who want sand at the door.

Punta Cana: the beach and the shortest transfer

Punta Cana is the country’s busiest airport and its longest stretch of beaches. Inside the Puntacana Resort & Club, a few minutes from the terminal, villas stand on the golf courses and lakes, with two courses (La Cana and Corales), beach clubs, a tennis centre and the Six Senses Spa reached by golf cart. Getting there

The Dominican Republic lets a family choose its arrival, and the choice decides a third of the week. Punta Cana International is the country’s busiest airport, with nonstop flights from many US cities; Cap Cana and the Puntacana Resort are minutes from it. Casa de Campo is about an hour by road from Punta Cana, and about the same from Santo Domingo, which suits grandparents flying into the capital on a different day. Easter 2027: dates, minimum stays and when to book

Easter Sunday falls on 28 March 2027, so Holy Week runs from 21 to 28 March. Outside Christmas and New Year, the villas above usually take short minimum stays, so at Easter the constraint is availability rather than the minimum: the twelve-bedroom oceanfront houses at Casa de Campo are the first to go, often to families who return every year.
