On the British Virgin Islands, in a very peaceful and unspoilt part of it, lies The Branson Estate on Moskito Island which takes its cues from Necker Island nearby to provide an exquisite mix of luxury hotel amenities and homely comfort.
Moskito Island boasts of three different villas as accommodation facilities: Headland House with three bedrooms, Beach Villa with four bedrooms and Mangrove Villa with four bedrooms. Ideally, Branson Estate all together has 11 bedrooms that only serve 22 guests.
At the tip of North East on Moskito Island is where Headland House stands as a major component of this estate. It is an amazing villa that has an elevator for easy access and a wrap-around infinity pool which connects the living spaces plus three ground-floor en suite bathrooms to the grand Great Room on the upper floor.
Beach Villa was set up for Holly Branson, Richard’s daughter. This venue provides incredible views of sandy beaches extending towards Headland House. There is a fully-stocked kitchen inside the main house along with wide lounge areas and outdoor dining tables located near one side of the infinity pool plus a hot tub.
Mangrove Villa is meant for Sam, Richard’s son. All rooms face eastward toward Necker Island and Virgin Gorda making them an intimate hideaway amidst mangroves.
Families are warmly welcomed on Moskito Island, with tailored amenities and activities for children, including twin bed arrangements and nurseries adjacent to the master suites. Babysitting services are available upon request.
Guests can indulge in a diverse array of activities at the shared Recreation Area, encompassing the Beach House, infinity pool and bar, tennis and dining pavilions, and water sports center. Island staff are on hand to assist with arranging activities, many of which are included in the exclusive use rate.
Culinary delights abound on Moskito Island, with personalized menus curated by the onsite chefs. Dining experiences range from formal to informal, indoor to outdoor, and can be tailored to individual preferences.
What is included? Nearly everything ! Well… almost ! : Your accommodation, all meals and drinks including all alcoholic beverages served in a variety of locations, return launch transfers from Virgin Gorda or Tortola airports, a dedicated team of staff to take care of your every wish, two floodlit tennis courts, water-sport equipment (windsurf, kite surf, water skiing, snorkeling, scuba diving, Hobie cat, kayak, paddle board etc), WiFi internet throughout the island and the 7% local tax.
Getting to Moskito Island : The closest international airport is on Tortola (Beef Island – airport code EIS) which is a 35-minute flight from San Juan and a 1 hour 20 minute flight from Antigua. It is possible to fly to the British Virgin Islands via many parts of the Caribbean, with the most popular routes being via San Juan, Antigua and St. Thomas. Private jets can land at Beef Island and at the airport in St. Thomas (STT). There is a helipad on Moskito Island for a very quick connection, however please note that helicopter flights are not possible at night in the BVI. By private launch Moskito Island is approximately 30 minutes from Tortola and 10 minutes from Virgin Gorda where there is another smaller airport, however flights to this airport are limited and the runway is not paved.
