Description

Casa Maroc is a six-bedroom villa in Hacienda, inside Puntacana Resort & Club, that mixes Moroccan lines with Caribbean ease: white walls, a pool with sunset views along the golf course, outdoor lounges and a big garden, with a butler, a housekeeper and a cooked breakfast in the rate. Sixteen guests, six bathrooms and two private beach clubs for guests.

Six en-suite bedrooms sleep sixteen: two kings and four rooms with two double beds each. We’d suggest it for three or four families who want breakfast made and a butler on hand, or for a big birthday where the children outnumber the adults. Of the Punta Cana villas we place, it’s the one with the Moroccan accent.

THE HOUSE

The owner calls it Hacienda B25, and the rooms are white-walled and spacious, with high ceilings and air-conditioning, a dining room for twelve, a sofa lounge, a balcony and a terrace with seating inside and out. A large indoor living room takes the games and the music after 10 pm, because the resort is strict about noise. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, an ice maker and a coffee machine, and there’s an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and gas grill. Cable and smart TV, Wi-Fi, an outdoor speaker, a safe, a washer and dryer and a welcome pack are in the house.

THE BEDROOMS

Every bedroom has its own bathroom, air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Bedrooms one and two have king beds; three to six have two double beds each. Six bathrooms with showers, hairdryers and toiletries; the owner’s text counts six and a half.

THE POOL AND THE GARDEN

The private pool faces the sunset, with outdoor lounges, terraces, a patio and a big, lushly planted garden, alongside the golf course. Beach towels are in the house, and guests may use two private beach clubs in the resort.

THE STAFF

A butler and a housekeeper come with the house, and the cooking service covers breakfast; lunch, dinner and snacks can be added for a fee, with groceries bought separately, the concierge helping if you want. An English-speaking concierge books tee times, tennis courts and excursions and can arrange grocery shopping, airport transfers, golf cart rental, yacht and catamaran charters, fishing, car and bike rental, a personal trainer, a massage therapist, live music and decorations, all on request. The owner’s listing title names a golf cart; the page doesn’t say it’s in the rate, so we confirm it when we quote.

THE RULES

Quiet hours are 10 pm to 9 am, strictly enforced by the resort with fines; parties and events need written approval, smoking is for designated outdoor areas, drones are not allowed, and pets are accepted only with written authorisation before arrival. The resort asks for every guest’s ID or passport at least 48 hours before check-in. Security cameras cover the front and sides of the house, not the pool or private areas. A refundable damage deposit of 10 per cent of the rent is taken on arrival and returned five days after check-out.

THE LOCATION

Puntacana Resort & Club has seven restaurants and bars, 45 holes of golf, twelve tennis courts, two beaches, a nature reserve and a marina. Puntacana Village, outside the gates, has eight restaurants, plus bars, shops and a pharmacy, and the Blue Mall is nearby.
