Corales 50

Corales 50 is a seven-bedroom Caribbean-style house on the fairways of the Corales golf course in Puntacana Resort & Club, ten minutes from the airport and a few steps from the private-plane terminal, with a large pool, terraces that look over the sea and the course, and a full-time staff of butler, housekeeper, chef and maintenance. Sixteen guests, eight bathrooms.

Seven en-suite bedrooms sleep sixteen: four kings, two rooms with two queens and a bunk room for four. We’d put it forward for three families, with the bunk room settling who sleeps where, or for a group arriving by private jet. Of the Punta Cana villas we place, it’s the nearest to the runway.

THE HOUSE

Interiors by design professionals, classic Caribbean touches, upscale furniture and fine materials: an elegant living room, indoor and outdoor dining with a table for twelve, breezy verandas and landscaped courtyards. High ceilings, air-conditioning, a sofa lounge, a balcony and a terrace; the kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, an ice maker and a coffee machine, and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and gas grill is there for eating outside. Cable and smart TV, Wi-Fi, a safe and a washer and dryer are in the house.

THE BEDROOMS

Each bedroom has a full bathroom, terrace access, air-conditioning and a ceiling fan, with garden or golf views. Bedrooms one to four have king beds, five and six have two queens each, and seven has two bunk beds. Two of the eight bathrooms have a bath as well as a shower, with hairdryers and toiletries.

THE POOL AND THE GROUNDS

A large pool, manicured gardens and several terraces that frame the sea and the golf course, with a patio and a lawn. Beach towels are in the house, there’s quick access to the private Corales Beach, and guests may use two private beach clubs; the Corales course hosts a PGA tournament each year.

THE STAFF

A full-time staff of a butler, a housekeeper, a chef and a maintenance person is at the house. An English-speaking concierge books tee times, tennis courts and excursions and can arrange grocery shopping, airport transfers, golf cart rental, yacht and catamaran charters, fishing, car and bike rental, a personal trainer, a massage therapist, live music and decorations, all on request. Breakfast can be booked.

THE RULES

The resort is private and family-oriented with strict noise rules and fines; after 10 pm the owner asks that games, music and loud conversation move to the large indoor living room. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 9 am, parties and events need written approval, smoking is for designated outdoor areas, drones are not allowed, and pets are accepted only with written authorisation before arrival. The resort asks for every guest’s ID or passport at least 48 hours before check-in. A refundable damage deposit of 10 per cent of the rent is taken on arrival and returned five days after check-out.

THE LOCATION

Punta Cana International Airport is about ten minutes away and the private-plane terminal a few steps.
