Lagos 28 is a five-bedroom villa in the Lagos enclave inside Puntacana Resort & Club, modern in its lines and tropical in its mood, with lagoon views, two dining areas, one of them open to the breeze, and a private chef, a butler and a live-in housekeeper in the rate. Twelve guests, six bathrooms, the beach a short run by golf cart.

Five en-suite bedrooms sleep twelve, the owner’s cap: two kings, two rooms with two double beds and one with a double and two singles. We’d suggest it for two families who want the chef cooking from the first evening, or for a group of friends who’ll take the alfresco table for every dinner. Of the Punta Cana villas we place, it’s the modern one on the lagoons.

THE HOUSE

Modern elegance with a tropical finish, and expansive living spaces inside and out: two dining areas, the second of them alfresco, a table for twelve, a sofa lounge with seating indoors and out, a balcony and a terrace, high ceilings and air-conditioning. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, an ice maker and a coffee machine, and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and gas grill is there for eating outside. Cable and smart TV, Wi-Fi, a safe, a washer and dryer and a welcome pack are in the house.

THE BEDROOMS

Every bedroom has its own bathroom, air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Bedrooms one and three have king beds, four and five have two double beds each, and bedroom two has a double bed and two singles, which suits a couple with two children. Six bathrooms with showers, one of them with a bath as well, and hairdryers and toiletries throughout.

THE POOL AND THE WATER

A pool, a patio and a lawn with the lagoon in front and the golf course in view; the house is lakefront. Beach towels are in the house, the beach and the Indigenous Eyes reserve are a short run by golf cart, and guests may use two private beach clubs.

THE STAFF

A private chef, a butler and a housekeeper are included: the chef is full-time, the housekeeper lives in and cleans daily, and staff hours run from 7 am to 9 pm. A bilingual concierge books tee times, tennis courts and excursions and can arrange grocery shopping, airport transfers, golf cart rental, yacht and catamaran charters, fishing, car and bike rental, a personal trainer, in-villa massage, live entertainment, decorations and extra housekeeping, all on request. Breakfast can be booked.

THE RULES

Quiet hours are 10 pm to 9 am, parties and events need written approval, smoking is for designated outdoor areas, drones are not allowed in the resort, and pets are accepted only with written authorisation before arrival. The resort asks for every guest’s ID or passport at least 48 hours before check-in. A refundable damage deposit of 10 per cent of the rent is taken on arrival and returned five days after check-out.

THE LOCATION

Lagos is one of the most sought-after residential areas of Puntacana Resort & Club, which has 45 holes of championship golf, twelve tennis courts on different surfaces, two private beaches, a full-service marina, an ecological reserve and seven restaurants and bars.
