Description
Tortuga C45 is a six-bedroom villa of classical sophistication in the Tortuga enclave of Puntacana Resort & Club, with panoramic views of the La Cana golf course, the beach and the Indigenous Eyes reserve a stone’s throw away, two dining settings, a sizeable pool, and a butler and a housekeeper in the rate. Fourteen guests, six bathrooms, two private beach clubs for guests.
Six en-suite bedrooms sleep fourteen: two kings, three queens and a room with two double beds. We’d suggest it for three couples with children who want the beach on foot, or for a golf week where the butler runs the house and a chef can be called in for the big nights. THE HOUSE
Spacious, intricately arranged living areas with two dining settings, one of them outdoors, a table for twelve, a sofa lounge with seating inside and out, a balcony and a terrace, high ceilings and air-conditioning. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, an ice maker and a coffee machine, and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and gas grill is there for eating outside. Cable and smart TV, Wi-Fi, a safe, a washer and dryer and a welcome pack are in the house.
THE BEDROOMS
Every bedroom has its own bathroom and air-conditioning, with ceiling fans in five. Bedrooms one and three have king beds, four, five and six have queens, and bedroom two has two double beds. Six bathrooms with showers, one with a bath as well and one with a private hot tub; hairdryers and toiletries in all.
THE POOL AND THE GARDEN
A sizeable pool, a patio and a lawn, on the golf course with the La Cana fairways in view. Beach towels are in the house, the beach and the Indigenous Eyes reserve are a stone’s throw away, and guests may use two private beach clubs.
THE STAFF
A butler dedicated to running the house and a housekeeper for the daily upkeep are included. A professional chef can be had on demand; we confirm the terms when we quote. A bilingual concierge books tee times, tennis courts and excursions and can arrange grocery shopping, airport transfers, golf cart rental, yacht and catamaran charters, fishing, car and bike rental, a personal trainer, a massage therapist, live music and decorations, all on request. Breakfast can be booked.
THE RULES
Quiet hours are 10 pm to 9 am, parties and events need written approval, smoking is for designated outdoor areas, drones are not allowed in the resort, and pets are accepted only with written authorisation before arrival. The resort asks for every guest’s ID or passport at least 48 hours before check-in. A refundable damage deposit of 10 per cent of the rent is taken on arrival and returned five days after check-out.
THE LOCATION
Puntacana Resort & Club has seven restaurants and bars, two golf courses with 45 holes between them, twelve tennis courts, two beaches, a nature reserve and a marina. Puntacana Village, a short drive away, has dining, shopping and a pharmacy, and the Blue Mall is nearby.
