Description
Villa Saman is a seven-bedroom house in Puntacana Resort & Club built in a modern Spanish style, with a daily housekeeper, a private chef, a butler and a bilingual concierge in the rate, a large pool in tropical gardens and the golf course at the front. Twelve guests, with two of the bedrooms paired off a shared hallway for parents with small children.
Seven bedrooms sleep twelve: four kings and three rooms with two double beds each, with eight bathrooms. We’d put it forward for two or three families who want the staff included rather than quoted, with the paired rooms for the youngest, or for a group that wants the La Cana clubhouse minutes away. Of the Punta Cana villas we place, it’s the Spanish one.
THE HOUSE
Clean lines, natural materials and high ceilings, with the rooms flowing out to shaded terraces. A sunlit living room, dining spaces with a table for twelve, a sofa lounge, a balcony and a terrace make up the social side; the kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, an ice maker and a coffee machine, and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and gas grill is there for eating outside. Cable and smart TV, Wi-Fi, a safe and a washer and dryer are in the house.
THE BEDROOMS
Bedrooms one, two, three and six have king beds; four, five and seven have two double beds each. Every room has air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Rooms one and two open off a common hallway and share its bathroom, a family suite for parents with children; the other rooms are en suite. Two of the bathrooms have a bath as well as a shower, the rest showers.
THE POOL AND THE GARDEN
A grand pool sits among tropical greenery, with sun loungers and outdoor seating, lawns and landscaped gardens around it and a patio. The golf course lies at the front and the ocean is close by; beach towels are in the house, and guests have privileged access to the private beach clubs.
THE STAFF
Daily housekeeping, a private chef, a dedicated butler and a concierge service in English and Spanish are included. Available for an extra fee: airport transfers, in-villa spa treatments and personal training, yacht, catamaran and fishing excursions, golf and tennis reservations, car rental and VIP transport. Breakfast can be booked.
THE RULES
Quiet hours are 10 pm to 9 am, parties and events need written approval, smoking is for designated outdoor areas, drones are not allowed in the resort, and pets are accepted only with written authorisation before arrival. The resort asks for every guest’s ID or passport at least 48 hours before check-in. A refundable damage deposit of 20 per cent of the rent is taken on arrival and returned five days after check-out.
THE LOCATION
La Cana Golf Course and its clubhouse are minutes away, and guests of the house have privileged access to the Indigenous Eyes Ecological Reserve, the Oscar de la Renta Tennis Center, the private beach clubs and the resort’s restaurants and events.
