Caicos Breeze

In the Karaya Blue community at Long Bay, a street back from the sea, Caicos Breeze is a newly built three-bedroom house with a private pool, a rooftop patio with an ocean view and a private path to Long Bay Beach, about ten minutes on foot. Kiteboarders get a garage for their gear.

Six guests share three king bedrooms, which makes this a house for two or three couples, a small group of friends or a crew of kiteboarders. We list it among our villas in Turks and Caicos for guests who plan to explore the island rather than stay put.

THE HOUSE

Modern in design, the villa covers 2,926 square feet and is fully air-conditioned, with ceiling fans too. In the kitchen there’s a large GE refrigerator, a dishwasher, a Samsung induction cooktop and a Cavavin bar fridge, along with a Weber BBQ. Sonos plays through the living areas and out onto the patio, and a 75-inch flat screen covers film nights. Solar panels offset part of the electricity and keep power on during outages. A filtration system means no bottled water. Security comes as gated access, a monitored alarm and cameras on the access points only, never on the pool or the living areas, plus a small safe in the wall for passports.

THE BEDROOMS

All three bedrooms have a king bed, air conditioning and good linens. The master gets lots of natural light, opens onto the outdoor dining and pool area and has an en-suite bathroom. Both guest rooms look onto the garden; one has its own en-suite, the other a bathroom next door. Every bathroom has a double vanity and two showers, one indoors and one private shower outside.

THE POOL AND THE ROOFTOP

Indoor and outdoor rooms run together in what’s called the “Glass House” design, with the private pool a few steps out. At 19 by 10 feet and 5 feet deep, the pool comes with floats and no lifeguard. Seating and lounging areas fill a large pool deck, and a covered dining area handles meals in the shade. Up on the roof, the patio has an ocean view. Coffee at sunrise, mostly. After dark the villa’s designated Dark Sky setting is made for stargazing.

THE BEACH

Beach chairs, an umbrella, towels, a Bluetooth speaker and a cooler are at the house. Take the path beside the villa to Long Bay Beach, or drive to any public access, since every beach on Providenciales is public.

THE SERVICE

One midweek clean is included with each week’s stay, and no other staff are listed.

THE RULES

Rates exclude the 12% government tax, and a $400 cleaning fee is added. Electricity is metered, with an allowance of $150 a week, about 210 kWh of grid power; anything above is charged at market rate plus 12% tax, so keep the doors closed while the air conditioning runs. Minimum stays are five or seven nights depending on the season, and rates assume two people per bedroom, children and infants counted. Smoking and vaping aren’t allowed, nor are pets or events, and a false security alarm costs $100. Check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 10 am.

THE LOCATION

Grace Bay is an eight-minute drive for groceries, shops and restaurants, and Providenciales International Airport twenty minutes. Long Bay catches the trade winds off the Caicos Bank, which keep the house cool and the bugs down.
