Hacienda C14

Hacienda C14 is a modern six-bedroom villa along the golf course in Hacienda, inside Puntacana Resort & Club: clean lines, open living spaces, a private pool with sunset views, several terraces and a shaded outdoor lounge, with two housekeepers in the rate. Sixteen guests, six bathrooms, two private beach clubs for guests.

Six en-suite bedrooms sleep sixteen: two kings, two queens and two rooms with two double beds each. We’d put it forward for three families who want a contemporary house rather than a Caribbean one, with the queen rooms for the grandparents or the teenagers. THE HOUSE

Clean lines and open living spaces that connect indoors and out, high ceilings, air-conditioning, a dining room for twelve, a sofa lounge with seating inside and out, a balcony and a terrace; the common areas are light-filled and the bedrooms expansive. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, an ice maker and a coffee machine, and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and gas grill is there for eating outside. Built-in outdoor speakers, cable and smart TV, Wi-Fi, a safe, a washer and dryer and a welcome pack are in the house.

THE BEDROOMS

Every bedroom has its own bathroom, air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Bedrooms one and two have king beds, three and four have queens, and five and six have two double beds each. Six bathrooms with showers, hairdryers and toiletries; the owner’s text counts six and a half.

THE POOL AND THE GARDEN

A private pool with sunset views, lush gardens, a patio and a lawn, and multiple terraces for lounging or entertaining, with a shaded outdoor lounge, along the golf course and with the fairways in view. The owner’s title lists a heated jacuzzi that the page doesn’t describe, so we confirm it before you book. Beach towels are in the house, and guests may use two private beach clubs.

THE STAFF

Two housekeepers come with the house. A chef and a butler can be added for a fee, with groceries bought separately, the concierge helping if you want. An English-speaking concierge books tee times, tennis courts and excursions and can arrange grocery shopping, airport transfers, golf cart rental, yacht and catamaran charters, fishing, car and bike rental, a personal trainer, a massage therapist, live music and decorations, all on request. Breakfast can be booked.

THE RULES

Quiet hours are 10 pm to 9 am, strictly enforced by the resort with fines, and the large indoor living room is where the music goes after 10 pm. Parties and events need written approval, smoking is for designated outdoor areas, drones are not allowed, and pets are accepted only with written authorisation before arrival. The resort asks for every guest’s ID or passport at least 48 hours before check-in. Security cameras cover the front and sides of the house, not the pool or private areas. A refundable damage deposit of 10 per cent of the rent is taken on arrival and returned five days after check-out.

THE LOCATION

Puntacana Resort & Club has seven restaurants and bars, 45 holes of golf, twelve tennis courts, two beaches, a nature reserve and a marina.
