Shemesh Residence

Shemesh Residence is a seven-bedroom estate in the gated community of Cap Cana that looks over the Caribbean Sea and the fairways of Punta Espada, with a private pool facing both, a separate lap pool, and a private chef, a butler and a housekeeper in the rate. Fourteen guests, nine bathrooms, Juanillo Beach minutes away and the airport about fifteen.

Seven bedrooms sleep fourteen: the master suite, four kings and a children’s room with a king or two twins on the second floor, and a guest room with two beds on the first. We’d put it forward for three families or a golf group who want every meal cooked and the course next door. Of the Punta Cana villas we place, it’s the one with two pools and the ocean view.

THE HOUSE

Spacious living areas inside and out, dining for twelve indoors and ten outside, expansive terraces, high ceilings and air-conditioned interiors. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, an ice maker and a coffee machine, and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and gas grill is there for eating outside. High-speed Wi-Fi throughout, cable and smart TV, a safe, a washer and dryer, a baby cot, beach equipment and a welcome pack are in the house; a yoga studio and a bike for guests are listed.

THE BEDROOMS

The second floor holds the master suite, four king bedrooms and the children’s bedroom, made up with a king or two twin beds and able to take a rollaway; the first floor has a guest room with two beds. Nine bathrooms: one with a bath, a shower and a private hot tub, six with showers, and two with a toilet, one of them with a bidet; hairdryers and toiletries in the main ones.

THE POOLS AND THE VIEW

The private pool looks over the ocean and the golf course, and a separate lap pool is there for exercise. The pool is listed as heated, with a jacuzzi and a whirlpool, and there are expansive terraces, a patio and a lawn. Beach towels are in the house, and guests have the use of a private beach club.

THE STAFF

A private chef and a butler come with every stay, from breakfast through lunch to dinner, with daily housekeeping, laundry and ironing and a bilingual concierge who books tee times, tennis courts and excursions. A doctor on call is available on request, as are grocery shopping, airport transfers, golf cart rental, yacht and catamaran charters, fishing, car and bike rental, a personal trainer, a massage therapist, live music and decorations.

THE RULES

Quiet hours are 10 pm to 9 am, parties and events need written approval, smoking is for designated outdoor areas, drones are not allowed, and pets are accepted only with written authorisation before arrival. The community asks for every guest’s ID or passport at least 48 hours before check-in. A security camera is listed. A refundable damage deposit of 20 per cent of the rent is taken on arrival and returned five days after check-out.

THE LOCATION

Juanillo Beach, the Cap Cana Marina, Scape Park, the Los Establos equestrian centre, tennis and paddle courts, restaurants, beach clubs and the Punta Espada Golf Club are all minutes away, and Punta Cana International Airport is about fifteen minutes.
