Description
Tortuga C35 is a grand five-bedroom villa in a classic style facing the La Cana golf course in Tortuga, inside Puntacana Resort & Club, a short walk to the beach and to the Indigenous Eyes reserve, with a billiards room, a very large pool, and a butler and a housekeeper living in. Fifteen guests, six bathrooms, two private beach clubs for guests.
Five en-suite bedrooms sleep fifteen on the owner’s count: three kings, a room with two doubles and a room with two queens. We’d put it forward for three families who’ll walk to the beach, or for a group that wants a butler on hand and a pool big enough for everyone at once. Of the Punta Cana villas we place, it’s the one with the billiards room.
THE HOUSE
Spacious, elegantly appointed common areas in a timeless classic style, with two dining spaces, one of them open-air, a table for twelve, a sofa lounge with seating inside and out, a balcony and a terrace, high ceilings and air-conditioning, and a billiards hall. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, an ice maker and a coffee machine, and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and gas grill is there for eating outside. Cable and smart TV, Wi-Fi, a safe, a washer and dryer and a welcome pack are in the house.
THE BEDROOMS
Every bedroom has its own bathroom, air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Bedrooms one to three have king beds, bedroom four has two double beds and bedroom five two queens, for families. Two of the six bathrooms have a bath as well as a shower; hairdryers and toiletries in all.
THE POOL AND THE GARDEN
The pool is spectacularly large, sized for the whole house, with a patio and a lawn; the villa faces the La Cana course with the fairways in view. Beach towels are in the house, the beach and the Indigenous Eyes reserve are a short, easy walk, and guests may use two private beach clubs.
THE STAFF
A butler and a housekeeper live in, in separate quarters: the butler for upkeep and service, the housekeeper for the daily cleaning. A chef can be provided on request for a fee. A bilingual concierge books tee times, tennis courts and excursions and can arrange grocery shopping, airport transfers, golf cart rental, yacht and catamaran charters, fishing, car and bike rental, a personal trainer, a massage therapist, live music and decorations, all on request. Breakfast can be booked.
THE RULES
Quiet hours are 10 pm to 9 am, parties and events need written approval, smoking is for designated outdoor areas, drones are not allowed in the resort, and pets are accepted only with written authorisation before arrival. The resort asks for every guest’s ID or passport at least 48 hours before check-in. A refundable damage deposit of 10 per cent of the rent is taken on arrival and returned five days after check-out.
THE LOCATION
Puntacana Resort & Club has seven restaurants and bars, 45 holes of golf, twelve tennis courts of various surfaces, two beaches, a nature reserve and a marina.
