The Best Countries to Visit in March 2027, From Cabo’s Whales to Late-Season Alpine Snow

The best countries to visit in March are the ones at the end of their dry season or at the height of their ski season: Mexico, Costa Rica, the Caribbean, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, South Africa, and Switzerland and France for the snow. 1. Mexico: whales in Los Cabos, the dry season on the Riviera Maya

March is one of the driest months in Los Cabos, with highs of 82°F (28°C) and barely a tenth of an inch of rain, and it falls inside the whale-watching season, which opens on December 15 and runs into April. On the Caribbean side, the Riviera Maya is in its dry season, with highs of 87°F (31°C) and the sea at about 78°F (26°C). The March calendar to check before you book

• Easter falls on March 28, 2027. Holy Week is in March, and it is one of the holiday weeks we advise booking nine to twelve months ahead.
• Spring break. US school breaks spread across March; the largest houses in Mexico and the Caribbean go first.
• Ramadan. Expected from about February 8 to March 8 or 9, 2027, which matters for Dubai and Marrakech in the first week of the month.
• The end of the season. Thailand’s dry season closes in April, the Alpine lifts from mid-April, the Los Cabos whales leave in April.
• Lead time. Six to nine months ahead for March, and nine to twelve for Holy Week and spring break in the largest houses.
