Palladia
Description
Villa Palladia stands where a medieval lookout once watched the valley, in the hills above Radda in Chianti. The walls are the original ones. What sits behind them now is a house of vaulted ceilings, stone archways and cool tiled floors, restored with a light hand and furnished for long summers.
The Carleone vineyard begins at the edge of the garden and runs down the hillside. Mornings start on the terrace, coffee in hand, the valley still in shadow. By afternoon the panoramic pool becomes the centre of the house, and the wine tastings take place a short walk from where you are sitting.
Inside, the kitchen opens onto a private patio with a wood-fired pizza oven, a barbecue and a long table beneath the pergola. There is a wellness area, a wine cellar, a gym, and a gazebo at the far end of the garden where breakfast is quieter than anywhere else on the estate. Six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
Radda in Chianti is 1.5 kilometres away, with shops, a pharmacy and a handful of restaurants worth the walk. Florence, Siena and San Gimignano are each an easy drive, and most of Tuscany‘s medieval villages sit within twenty kilometres.
Every Haute Retreats stay includes a dedicated concierge: private tastings at neighbouring estates, tables held where tables are not usually held, drivers, guides, and whatever else the week turns out to require.
Villa Palladia is available as a five-bedroom or six-bedroom villa. Write to [email protected] for availability and a tailored proposal.
