Warm Thanksgiving destinations are the places where the sea is still warm enough to swim in late November and a private villa can host the whole family: St Barts, Turks and Caicos, Barbados, the Riviera Maya, Costa Rica, Dubai, the Maldives and Hawaii. Thanksgiving 2026 falls on Thursday, November 26, and the Caribbean houses are in our Caribbean villa rentals.
On September 23 we searched 2,664 Caribbean villa listings for the Saturday-to-Saturday holiday week, November 21 to 28, and read the booking calendar of every villa that showed open. Fewer than one in four could still be booked. Counted once each, that is 449 villas across 17 islands, and 192 of them have five bedrooms or more.
Three things make a Thanksgiving week work: water you can swim in straight from the house, a team that takes the holiday meal off your hands, and a journey short enough that the first swim happens on arrival day. This guide sets out where each destination delivers them and shows, island by island, how much of the Caribbean is still open and how each island prices the holiday.
How much of the Caribbean is still open for Thanksgiving week
Eight weeks before arrival, the holiday week already behaves like high season. These are the figures from our calendar-level scan of the Caribbean villa market for Saturday, November 21 to Saturday, November 28, 2026.
A booking engine reading those calendars would have offered all 449 villas. Sixty-five of them needed a call first: 39 calendars showed no bookings at all, 18 villas had no live calendar, 3 were open in one system and taken in another, and 5 carried a minimum stay, a mid-week rate change or a missing rate that changed the answer.

The premium is an island decision, not a market rule
Across the 325 villas that publish a rate table for the week, 54% price Thanksgiving above their lowest published rate, with a median uplift of 33% where they do, and about one in three sets a separate rate period just for the holiday. St Barts, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Anguilla charge a clear holiday premium. On Barbados, St Martin, the British Virgin Islands, St Lucia and Grenada the median villa is still at its lowest published rate, because winter rates there only begin in December.
Minimum stays
Two thirds of those rate tables accept five nights or fewer for the week, but 31% ask for seven nights or more, rising to 93% on St Barts and 85% or more on Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands. Two St Martin villas ask for ten and eleven nights.

02Turks and Caicos — calm, clear water
Turks and Caicos pairs famously clear water with long, soft beaches, which makes it one of the easiest places to swim through a Thanksgiving week. 03Barbados — Platinum Coast sunsets
Barbados stands out for its west-coast ease, a strong service culture and villa neighborhoods that feel refined rather than resort-like.
